Not sending faxes
If you're only having problems sending to some numbers, check the dialing rules for that number if it needs an area code or country code. There's nothing wrong with your fax or line. You can also try loweing down the maximum send speed for your fax. To do that, on the control panel of your printer, press on Setup > Fax Setup > Dialing and Sending > Max Send Speed.

Usb device not recognised lexmark s405
Have you tried using another USB cable? You can also try plugging the printer in to a different USB port in your computer. Also, try to plug in the printer to a different computer, if it works then there's a problem with the USB port of your computer. If it still doesn't recognize the printer, it could be the USB cable that's causing the problem or the USB port of your printer. If that's the case and your printer is still under warranty, contact our technical support team to have the printer replaced. You can find the contact number at our site: www.lexmark.com.

Lexmark s405 do not want to print becouse of black but did change it.
If you're using a refilled/remanufactured cartridge, the printer will not detect the ink levels. There's also a possibility that it will damage the printhead which will also void the warranty of your printer. If you're using a genuine Lexmark cartridge, unplug the power adapter of your printer then try updating the firmware of your printer. Just go to http://bit.ly/ghfW8H to download the firmware update. Also, try to perform a maintenance on your cartridges. To do that, on the control panel of your printer, press on Setup > Maintenace > Deep Clean Printhead.

My Lexmark S405 power light flashes rapidly and will not come on.
Turn off the printer and open the printer back door. Use a spot light and give look inside properly. Make sure there no paper. Some time small part of the paper creates the problem. So you can do one thing after open the back door, top side etc make the printer upside down etc. So if anything inside that's will come out. After cleaning again connect it with PC and turn on. Now give a look. If you face same problem then Un-install the printer driver and software from the PC. Then restart the PC and Printer both. Now connect the Printer with PC via USB and install again the driver & software. Then try to print and let me know the result.

How to recieve a fax ?
If your printer is connected to a modem make sure that the port has a dial tone. To check for dial tone, try to plug in a phone to the same port that you printer is connected to. If it doesn't have dial tone, you might want to check with your phone provider. Or you can plug in the printer straight to a wall jack.Once the printer is connected to a line that has dial tone, you can then setup the printer to receive faxes. To set it up, on the control panel of your printer, press on Setup > Fax Setup > Ringing and Answering. If you have an answering machine, set your printer to pick up 3 rings higher than your answering machine. If not, set it to pick up on the 5th ring that way you will still have time to pick up the phone if it's a voice call.If you have a voicemail service from your phone provider, you'll need to contact your phone provider to get a distinctive ring feature. Once you'll have that feature, you can assign a distinctive ring to your printer. You can find that under Fax Setup > Ringing and Answering > Ring Pattern.
