I once had a similar issue and found that the switch had to be on. If yours has a switch as well as a button to power on you should check it. If it won't even turn on to play stuff or anything you might try checking the battery. If all else fails you could try running a virus scan, unlikely though.

You say it's an mp3 but you want to put videos on it. Do you mean mp4 or are you just trying to store the files? Either way, if you connect it to a computer you should be able to just copy and paste like any other file. An mp3 player might not recognize the files even in it's browser, but it should store the all the same and they should show up anytime you access the player with any computer.

If you have the cable to hook to a computer it will show up as an additional hard drive and you can delete files like any windows file.
