My Blackberry Tour is not displaying my SMS threaded

The Tour has two options for displaying text messages -- as "bubbles" or "stripes." You can go into the options and switch between the two to see which style is the one you're looking for.

To get to the SMS options, press the BlackBerry button to go to your Home folder and scroll down to the Options folder (with the wrench icon) and click on it. Scroll down the list and select SMS Text, and the first option displayed will be Conversation Style. Try it with Bubbles and then Stripes and see which one you like better.

BlackBerry Tour: How to make it ring and vibrate for incoming calls

You can customize your BlackBerry Tour so that either it rings when you get a phone call, or it vibrates -- or both. To make your phone both ring and vibrate when you get a call, go to your BlackBerry's sounds and ring tone options, which you can get to by either of the following two ways:

#1 - Use the trackball to go to the sound icon in the upper left corner of the main screen and click on it, then toward the bottom of the list that appears, select Set Ring Tones/Alerts, then select Phone.

#2 - On the main screen, press the BlackBerry button (the one with the seven dots) to take you to your Home folder. Scroll down to the Options folder (it's usually toward the bottom, and it has a wrench icon) and click on it, then select Sounds and Ring Tones.

From this scren you can select the ring tone that you want and adjust the ring tone volume. Then scroll down to Vibration and set it for On.

There is also an option for Vibrate with Ring Tone. If you turn this option on, the phone will both ring and vibrate at the same time when you get a call. If you turn it off, the phone will vibrate first, then ring. Either way, you'll get the ring and the vibration -- it's just a matter of whether they happen together or not. To see the difference between the two options, use the "Try it" option at the bottom of the screen.

When you've made the selections that you want, exit out of the options screen, but be sure to choose Save rather than Discard to save your changes.

My blackberry says

The mute key is on the top of the BlackBerry, on the right side. It's not raised at all, so it's hard to see, but if you look at the top of the BlackBerry you'll see it -- it looks like a speaker with a line through it.

How to remove battery from my blackberry tour

To remove the battery, make sure your phone is off, then turn it over so you're looking at the back. Toward the bottom of the rear cover there is a horizontal silver stripe, divided up into three sections. The center section is a tab that you can push up (toward the top of the phone, away from you) -- push it up and then lift off the whole back cover as one piece.

Now you're looking at your battery -- it's the wide gray rectangular part that says BlackBerry on it and has a green bar running along the bottom. There is a cut-out on the left side of the battery where you can insert a fingernail and pop the battery out toward you.

When you reinstall the battery and put the cover back on, the phone will take a few minutes to boot back up -- this is normal.

Batery died and when i recharged it and turned it

That screen is normal when the battery dies or is removed. It takes a few minutes for the BlackBerry to boot back up -- you'll see the clock hands, and then the BlackBerry logo with a progress bar, and then eventually it will come back up to your Home screen. Just turn it on and let it sit for a few minutes to do its thing, then come back to it.

Blackberry tour for Verizon keeps resetting. Scre...

The battery may be a little loose in its setting. Turn the phone off and remove the back cover. Take the battery out and reinstall it, making sure it sits snugly and it can't wiggle around at all. (While you have it out, blow some compressed air onto the contacts if you have any.)

The phone will go through its initialization when you turn it back on, but after that if it still does the same thing, see if it does it when you're connected to AC power (through the battery charger). If it doesn't happen when the battery is charging, you probably just have a bad battery.

Scroll down the list that appears and select Set Ring Tones/Alerts. Click Messages, then select the type of message you want to modify alerts for and make your changes. (Don't forget to save them.)

If you want to remove alert sounds for more than one type of message, just hit the Cancel button, save your changes, and choose the other type(s) of message you want to modify.

Can't hear my outgoing calls

While you're in the call, use the volume buttons on the right hand side of the Tour to turn up the volume.

If you still can't hear, you might want to try using the speakerphone -- it's louder. The speakerphone button is the same as the dollar sign ($) button, just press it during a call to activate the speakerphone.

If the volume button makes your outgoing call sound better, but then the next time you make a call the volume drops again, go into the phone's sound settings (Home folder > Options folder > Phone Options > General Options) and under Default Call Volume, change it to a higher number, or to Previous.

BlackBerry Tour: How to hide or show programs

You may have several applications on your BlackBerry that you don't use very often. But you don't want to delete them, because one day you might decide you want them. The easy solution is to hide them, so you don't see them during regular use, but they're there if you ever need them.

To hide a program, highlight it with the trackball and click the BlackBerry button (the one that looks like a paw print). Then just select Hide from the menu, and that program will disappear from view.

If you later decide you want it back, click the BlackBerry button anywhere in the Home folder (or whichever folder that application was located in) and choose Show All from the menu. Hidden programs will show up, but they will look fainter than the other programs, as if they were faded or washed-out.

You can leave your BlackBerry set to Show All to see the hidden program, or you can "unhide" it so it's always visible. To do that, highlight the program and click the BlackBerry button, then select Hide again to remove the check mark. The program will be visible again.

Once you've made the program visible again, you can either uncheck Show All or leave it checked. Show All can not be applied to some folders and not others; if you select Show All in the Games folder, for example, hidden applications in all folders (including Home) will be visible.

The same procedure works for folders as well as applications, and it also will work for applications or subfolders that are located in another folder beside the Home folder.
