Need a wiring diagram for 3 speed patton floor fan

A three way switch has 3 terminals, these for floor fans operate by a rotary switch but can be adapted to use any 120V Rotary toggle or rocker type switch. technically your compartment (or room provided will determine which to use). I'd suggest you replace it with one like the one that no longer works. The one good thing about fans the direction they rotate in is already determined, and with a/c current it will work even if you connect it up wrong! If it work's then fine don't over think it

My fan just suddenly won't come on, I

if its sat for any length of time the lube on the shaft can harden. remove the grill and spin the blade to see if it rotates freely. using care to stay away from the blades set it to the highest setting and give the blades a little assist to see if it will begin to spin, if it does,, use some WD-40 or Trilube on the shaft of the motor front and backside Good Luck Dave. please take a moment to rate my reply (note) larger fans require more juice to get them going,, so yes , if the cap is flawed and not totally burned out,, ( they are called starting capacitors) then they are not supplying enough amps to get the job done,, which in turn would allow the motor to Hum, but repeated trying will burn out the cap

Where do i find a replacement motor for my patton

Before you replace it, try oiling it -- look at the little oil hole on the back of the motor housing. Or try taking it apart and cleaning it, then oiling.

Did it work before, but gradually slowed down and then refused to start? See other threads on this topic for that fan model.

Motor over heats and stops

I've had one of these since the '90s. Depending on amount of use, it will eventually get clogged with dust and gunk. Then it doesn't want to start.

Every couple years I have to take it apart and clean the blade shaft, lubricate the thing and reassemble. Be very observant how the parts (wires, capacitor etc) are attached so you remember how they go back together.

Judging by some other questions here, this is a typical problem with this fan. If it's overheating, you may have another issue involved.

Need a new bladem otor is good

There may be a nut on the shaft that is loose. Remove the surrounding grill and remove the fan. That may give you the clue needed to repair it without new parts (which are likely to be difficult to obtain).

Patton 20 inch high velocity floor fan. I need a motor and capacitor wiring diagram please.

Question edited for clarity. This appears to be a Walmart, Amazon, eBay special without a maker website which usually means made in China and sold in bulk. There is limited help here and some videos. Motor and Capacitor wiring all works to the same diagram. https://www.google.com/search?q=20+inch+patton+high+velocity+floor+fan+wiring+diagram ..

I have a Patton U2-1287 fan. The knob for the on/off-speed control switch is broken; I need to buy another knob.

To purchase a replacement knob for your Patton U2-1287 fan, you can try the following options:
  1. Manufacturer's website: Visit the official website of the manufacturer, Patton Products Company, and look for a "Replacement Parts" or "Accessories" section. They may offer replacement knobs or have a customer support contact you can reach out to for assistance.
  2. Online retailers: Check popular online retailers such as Amazon, eBay, or Walmart. Search for "Patton U2-1287 fan knob" or similar keywords to find compatible replacement knobs. Be sure to read the product descriptions and reviews to ensure it is the correct fit for your specific model.
  3. Local appliance repair shops: Visit local appliance repair shops or stores that specialize in HVAC or fan parts. They may carry replacement knobs or be able to order one for you.
  4. Contact customer support: Reach out to the manufacturer's customer support directly via phone or email. Explain the issue and provide them with the model number and any other relevant details. They may be able to assist you in finding a replacement knob or direct you to an authorized dealer.
When contacting suppliers or searching online, it's helpful to have the model number of your fan (Patton U2-1287) and any additional information about the knob size or design. This will ensure you find a compatible replacement that fits properly. Alternatively, if you cannot find an exact replacement knob, you could consider using a universal fan knob that is compatible with your fan's control switch. Universal knobs are designed to fit a range of fan models and may offer a suitable solution.

The Patton Floor Fan I have quit working when a shirt was sucked into it and no-one was home. I am wondering if they have a fuse on the motor that can be replaced?

Most have a one-time thermal fuse wired into the motor. You would have to remove cage and fan blade, unscrew motor mounts, open motor casing, locate fuse by cutting open or sliding off the thermal sleeves, cut fuse out and resolder a new thermal fuse in. Should be able to locate replacement thermal fuse online. Can also just splice ends together but then you lose thermal protection and a fire can result. It is a good temporary fix to diagnose if you have burnt out one of the motor coils.
