It sounds like the steering wheel is binding up the ignition. While turning the ignition key, turn the steer wheel back and forth. You will need to apply a bit of force to turn the steering wheel to overcome the binding.

But did you tried disabling the alarm system and checked.If the same problem is noticed.May be the alarm wirings are getting short and this is trigerring the alarm.Try the reset by disconnecting the car battery negative terminal for 1 hour then again reconnect and check.If disconnecting and reconnecting the battery is not helping then disable the car alarm and see if the same problem is seen.Is the door still getting unlocked even after car alarm system is disabled.--------------- Keep updated,.Thanks.Helpmech.
I bought a used 05 Ford Ranger a few months ago
On passenger side, inside of cab there is a fuel inertia switch mounted
on the firewall by where feet go. There is a button underneath, push it.
This will reset switch. Truck should get fuel now and start. These
switches get weak and if passenger kicks it truck will shut down. Will
still turn over but not start.

If you are talking about the factory alarm, that is disabled simply by turning the ignition key to the run position.
If this instead is a third party alarm , then it will have a valet override button sowmehere under the dash.

Not a complete solution but something to try .Using the key lock and unlock the vehicle from the drivers door .Some models in UK have an arm switch on the lock barrel in the door which sticks.

Can I reset my anti theft device by using one key
Yeah, put the first key in and let the anti-theft light go completly out (about ten secs), take that key out and do the same with the second key. Take it out and start it with the first key. Maybe this will trick the system , hope this helps.

I have a 1996 ford windstar
They remote is for the immobiliser system. Immobilisers are designed to be VERY difficult to bypass otherwise why fit them? Your simplest solution here is to go to a car key specialist and get a new remote. Once the old one fails the car will not start at all.
