This looks like an SQL database issue. Call PCAmerica tech support and they should help you out. Unfortunately it is not toll free: 845.920.0888 Please comment back if they refuse. You could also uninstall sql server and RPE and then reinstall them. You could have gotten a bad download the first time.

hi elissa,one way is to create an item with no price in the none department. check boxes for modifier and prompt description. uncheck box print on receipt (unless you want the note on customers tab). set it to print to kitchen. Now create a quick button under touch screen configuration with the function fixed item. label it kitchen notes. enter the item name that you created earlier and

I would uninstall then re-install RPE. It can't hurt. Sorry I can't help more but I'm going on vacation.

Invoice item display
Hi Gary,
Several things can cause this. - They are in a department that is set to not display.
- They are set to not display.
- They are in a department with a lot of items and many are set to not display and this item is at they end of the list and you haven't scrolled far enough to find it.
These are the most common. Corruption in your database could also cause this. Poor menu programming is usually behind most of these. If you need help, shoot me an

Can you modify a Modifier button and Choice buttons or do you have to start a whole new button/s?
Hi Alice,
A choice button just gives you a choice of individual items in inventory. The
choice itself is also an inventory item and can be found in inventory by
clicking the LOOKUP button, then clicking the CHOICE ITEMS button down the right
side. It should be in the list. SELECT it and you can edit the list by adding
more items or removing item and then arrange the order they are displayed.
The drinks are probably a modifier group. Generally they are setup under the
drink size, then you choose the flavor. These too can be added, removed, extra
charge for certain ones.

How do you move new items into the old, empty spaces on the menu screen?
Hi Alice,This may take some time and trial and error, but you go into TOUCH SCREEN CONFIGURATION. Select the ITEMS & DEPARTMENTS button. On the left side, highlight the department you want to correct first. On the right side, all items for that department should be displayed.At this point, DO NOT HIT the ALPHABETIZE button. This may be what caused holes to appear in your selection screen. This button is only useful to new unused menu setup. Highlight each item that should not be displayed, such as modifiers or discontinued items, and uncheck the box at bottom for displaying it.Next, highlight an item that will display and click the UP or DOWN buttons to reposition it in the display. This is the time consuming part. You can also select a color for it if desired. This can make it easier to spot certain items.When you are satisfied with that department, highlight another and repeat the process. To see your changes, you must exit SETUP, switch to a different department, then switch back to it. If you have a lot of gaps, several attempts will probably be

Pcamerica.desktop.pos has stopped working
For Windows 7 right click on RPE icon, select properties. Click on Compatibility then check " Run this program as an administrator" click apply then ok. The program should open fine. If not call support they are very helpful.
Problem with password special characters
special characters are a no-no. if it is an employee, just go to employee maintenance and give them a new password. if it was an administrator account, you will need to actually change it in the database which is a very high tech solution or call pc america and pay way too much for the fix. or get a hold of me.

Customer recipt font is to small
You need to isolate the problem. If you have more than 1 receipt printer, swap them and see if problem follows printer. Or do a factory reset on the printer. Printer manual will explain how or look up online. This will ensure the font matches what RPE is expecting.
