I have a cyclone xhe water heater and the air pressure switch is blinking and the display says loc. What does this mean?

Make sure there is nothing blocking your water heater's intake or exhaust pipes outside. Many times snow and ice will build up and cause that LOC code to fault. It means there is something wrong with the pressure. If pipes are clear, also make sure the blower fan is clear too, if those are good, then it's probably one of the pressure switches. On the Cylcone there is an inlet, outlet and proving switch. Good luck.

Says low igniter current

If it says low ignitor current the ignitor usually needs to be replaced. As the ignitor ages its current reduces because it is oxidizing. Eventually it will be detected by the control system that alerts you of the issue. If the control system were not designed to do this, soon it would not be able to ignite the gas. If this happened it could cause a dangerous condition such as a fire or explosion.I hope this helps.

I have a commercial water

The fan is not operating -- when this conditon exists, the unit will not fire up. Here's a link to the manual. The unit needs servicing.

http://www.hotwater.com/lit/im/com_gas/318556-000.pdf

Here are some excerpts from the manual relative to the blower prover and error msgs.

If the Blower Prover switch contacts do not close after the

Combustion Blower is energized the Control System will lock out and display Blower Prover Open

Blower Prover Open

Fault occurred 2 mins ago

The blower prover switch remains

open after the blower has been

energized.

Call a service professional:

(press [DOWN] for more....)

These plastic sensing tubes must be routed to the correct sensing ports on the water heater. Sensing tube

routing should always be checked whenever Blower Prover Open, Blower Prover Failure, Blocked Air

Intake or Blocked Exhaust is displayed on the Control System LCD, see Figure 31 on page 29. These "Fault

Conditions" can be caused by incorrect sensing tube routing.

I have a Cyclone XHE model BTH 120-250(A) series

Code 11-Pressure switch fails to open or close after five minutes.

This unit will produce condensation--quite heavily at times. The outlet drain hose must be allowed
to drain. Exhaust Vent piping must also drain condensate. Code 11 error would imply that these
must be checked.

90% of the time this problem is related to installation issues with either the vent or drain.

I need to know if I could insulate the unit bellow

You can insulate it, fiberglass is the best material to use. Make sure not to obstruct the T&P valve operation, and leave the space open where you can get in to relight the pilot/ service the burner assembly. That space is also the combustion air intake for the main burner, so you must leave it open.

A O Smith BTH 250 error code B2 Ignition Failure

You need to check your hot surface ignitor. You do this by checking for continuity through it with all power off. If you need to replace this be very careful as it will break if you bump the box to hard. You should check all your limit switches at the same time. Good luck.

I have an old A.O. Smith pool pump and it's very loud. Replacing the bearings seems complicated. Would it be better/easier to replace the motor pump? TIA

If your A.O. Smith pool pump is making a lot of noise and you've determined that the problem is with the bearings, you have a few options for how to proceed.

Replacing the bearings in a pool pump can be a complicated and time-consuming process, particularly if you don't have experience working on this type of equipment. If you're not confident in your ability to complete the repair, it may be best to hire a professional to do it for you.

Alternatively, you could consider replacing the entire motor pump assembly rather than just the bearings. This can be a more expensive option, but it may be easier and more reliable in the long run. When you replace the motor pump, you get a brand new unit with all new components, which should provide reliable and efficient operation for many years to come.

Ultimately, the best choice depends on your budget, your level of expertise, and your overall goals for your pool pump. If you're unsure what to do, consider consulting with a pool pump repair professional to get their opinion on the best course of action.

My pool pump motor Smith 1.0 HP 184948-22 does not start, just humming

Normally indicative of a failed start capacitor. Phone 'INYO Pools' to check. They will confirm. The only other possibility is that it is jammed. In this image the start capacitor is the black tubular cylinder on the left. you will see in the text that the capacitor gives the motor a boost to get it turning. CAPACITOR - This Capacitor, referred to as a Start Capacitor, is tied directly to the Start Winding. This Capacitor together with the Start Windings provides an increase of 150 -175 % of torque to the motor shaft during its initial startup. When the motor reaches 2/3 to 3/4 full speed after a few seconds of operation, the start circuit will shut off. The start capacitor will generally be rated at 50-400 MFD and 125 or 250 VAC. If your motor won't start and hums when you try to turn it on, you probably have a bad Start Capacitor. For instruction on replacing this part see our guide on "How To Replace a Pool Pump Capacitor". https://www.google.com/search?q=pool+pump+motor+Smith+1.0+HP+184948-22+start+capacitor ..
