Poor flushing

Make sure the water level is the same in both tanks, so you know the water volume will be the same for both units when flushing. Next, hold the handle down for the full flush release to make sure the flapper (in the tank) is not closing too soon and cutting off the full water volume needed. Next, would be to get a tolet snake reamer (buy the cheapest one) and run it through the toilet bowl 3 or 4 times always turning clockwise while entering and while removing. If all this does not cure the problem, then you probably have a defective toilet outlet hole that was made too small when the toilet was formed. The outlet hole must be minimum 1 5/8 inch diameter (most are between
1 3/4 inch to 2 1/4 inch diam.) . This is an occassional industry problem; I have seen it several time over the many years. To confirm this, you need to remove the toilet and measure the hole, or get flush balls of 1 5/8 inch with 4 ft. string attached. If the ball flushes and takes all the string slack, then the hole is at least correct minimum size. If ball does not completely flush after 3 tries, then there is some obstruction or the hole is too small and toilet it therefore defective. Goodluck, Macgivor

Welcome to FixYa!

The part that holds the flapper you can get at home depot. It is called the flush kit/overflow tube. On the link below is one that will work for your toilet. You will need to remove the tank to replace the part. There is directions in the packaging.

You can also try one of thease flapers. Ir round part in the middle just slides over the over flow tube. Then you will not need to replace the over flow setup.

The toilet has water running continuously from the

bad shut off float pull the float up manually does that shut it off if so adjust float to go off at a lower water level. If it doesnt replace it. The float is attached to a water shut off valve as it rises to a certain point which you set, when it reaches that water level it shuts off the water.

Pegasus toilet tank will not refill

Most likely the washer came off and is stuck in the shut off valve or the float is stuck all the way up. Checkk adjustment screw in the top of the water control valve to make sure it is not turned all the way in.

Strange that it went, but do you still have it? If so, bring it to your plumbing supply store and they should be able to match it up. Not sure why Home Depot can't help though. If you do not have it, bring the tank so they can try it right there. Good luck and make sure you don't overtighten when reassembling (can crack easier than you think). Can always tighten, but never loosen when it's too late.

Website for parts for a Pegasus Model 875-9104 , 875-9204 , or 875-9296H

You bought this at Lowes or Home depot I presume?Pegasus faucets are mostly made today by Globe Union Industrial, the same company who makes Danze, Gerber, and some other brands you may be familiar with. Made mostly in China. Thus customer support tends to be less than what you're used to. In the future your best bet is a delta or moen & if you need parts avoid aftermarket, they simply don't work as well & I don't know why. This recommendation is only for sinks, tub & showers. They might look nice going in but they don't last & repairs are either a nightmare or impossible. See the link for Globe Union. Globe UNION Industrial Corp
