Bosch HME97 stopped working
Did you check the original fuse for continuity? Do so with an ohm meter if not. Does the display light up? If you take off the cover & look at the control board do you see anything burnt or, smell burn? If so, it will cost about as much for a control panel as it would for a new microwave.

this only if you are competent.
If
your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the
mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to
the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
ONLY
USE THE SAME TYPE AND RATING OF FUSE TO REPLACE IT.
The usual
cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or
sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the
appliance.

the sighn with a spoon inside is to alert you to the dangers of delayed boiling this is were the liquid in a container is heated on the outside quicker than the inside when you remove the liquid and expose it to the ambient air in your kitchen the liquid can boil over scalding your hand it doesnt have anything to do with your friends cup of tea this is pure coincidence the pop is the internal safety fuse blowing will need attn from service tech to sort high voltage safety fuse blowing means inverter or mag faults.
Cant remove glass light
if you remove oven door this will make it easier to undo lens cover
let it warm up then cool down to a point where you can comfortably put your hand in the oven,wear a suitable glove a gardening one is ideal you should be able to remove it once carbon deposits are loosened by heat be sure to turn it correct way when its upside down most of my customers turn it the wrong way tightening it up!
