Dell laptop powes up no video
This could be one of three things.1. It could be the LCD screen has gone out.2. It could be the Cable that runs to the LCD has gone out.3. It could be the Video Card has gone out.If you have an extra computer monitor you should be able to hook your laptop up to it. That would help cross out bad Video Card. Truth be told any of these issues will have to be serviced.

Proper technique for cleaning screen
I use end dust anti static cleaner can be found at any local supermarket always spray on a soft cloth never direct on the screen. You can also use anti static wipes any computer store will have them just never spray direct fluids or anything that is greasy or things like brake cleaner use those two items you will never fail to keep it clean without destroying it. Be gentle and make sure that the computer is turned off and remove the battery so that you will not hit the power button while cleaning computer if you do the screen do the keyboard as well and blow out the cooling fan area as well dust is a problem for fires and conducts electricity. Cleaning is critical I clean my machines once a month. I have never had any issues with my machines running bad. John
