to change the stator you need to drain the primary fluid , remove the cover. And remove the primary chain, clutch and compensator assembly. Then you need to remove the rotor. Behind that is the stator

Stator change in replacing a bad stator do i need to unbolt the engine for clearance to remove the bolts in the stator cover? main engine heat sing up side have 4 bolt.open it clearance pocket inside.
