If you have a helper, you can have them apply the brake and maintain the fluid level while you bleed the old fluid off. If you don't have help, you can use a hand vacuum pump at the bleeder to draw out the old fluid while ensuring the fluid resivoir is kept full untill you see the new fluid coming through.

Leaking fluid around left front wheel of 2001 Audi A6

If it is near the tire it is brake fluid. The brake fluid reservoir is back by the firewall driver side of engine compartment. Your car uses DOT 4 brake fluid.

Brake light staying on. on my 2001 ford windstar what might it be

check your master cylinderr fluid level. If full brakes may be worn badly or master cyoinder may be going bad.. if brakes are ok change brake sending unit usually located on master cylinder. do noty drive until you are positive your brakes are good. if fluid level is low in master look for brake fluid under car usually on back of wheel.if no brake fluid on back of wheel inspect brake lines for a hole usually rusted through. if this is helpful please leave me positive feedback.

My 2001 Nissan Xterra's brake fluid ran out. Should I bleed the brakes or just refill it? I may need to get new brake pads but am not sure why else it would be out of brake fluid. Thanks

brake fluid will get lower in the reserve as your brake pads wear. if it is really low u should probably take it in to have the pads changed.

Change brake fluid

Mostly there are no lights and no problems with bleeding abs brakes - the brake pedal has to be pumped full stroke after replacing brake pads or servicing the brakes and that doesn't usually cause problems though there are no absolute guarantees.
