If the light doesn't extinguish itself within a few seconds of starting the bike, then you need to take it to a garage and have a diagnostic check done on it.

the next time light is on, turn key slightly back to stop engine, than check error codes Don t turn key all the way off and it will have code still in memory. This should give you the codes. once key is off it resets computer.
Oil level is probably low. When you turn, your oil splashes to the right or left and your pump is not able to pick up the proper amount of oil to pump. If the level is proper, you might have the wrong grade of oil. Check your owners manual for proper weight for the driving sonditions you are in.

We just experienced our oil light coming on. We were on our way to have this checked out and I decihded to look at the book. It said there is a sensor that lets you know when you need an oil change you have to reset this feature by putting your car in the run position, not starting it, slowly pump the gas pedal 3 times in 5 seconds. Turn the key to off position and then start it. The light will go away. If it doesn't there is something else wrong with it. It worked for us. We had just had the oil changed and it was never reset. I suppose that is why it came on.
First you have to check power steering fluid level, and if it's ok then you have to check power steering pump. If you have a EPS light on your dash, then you have to plug a ODBII diagnostic tool to read code and then interpret what the problem is.
I have this car. There is no oil low light. Only light that will ever come on is the check engine light reminding you to change your oil. If this is or ever comes on and you need to turn it off follow these steps. With the engine off, push and hold the odometer reset button. While holding the button, turn the key to the on position and the light will turn off. It would be a good idea to check engine oil levels periodically anyway, especially before long road trips.
The good news: a ford dealer can make you a new key. The bad news, that oil light coming on when the engine is warm, is an indication that you have low oil pressure when the oil gets hot and thin. This is usually an indication that the rod and /or main bearings are about to fail. This pretty much means you need a new (or used) engine. There is an off chance that the oil pressure sender has gone out of calibration and is turning on the light prematurely, but this is rare. The correct way to check this, would be to hook up an oil pressure gauge and let the engine get hot, then compare the readings against specs. Your shop should have done this. Failing that, you could gamble the price of an oil pressure sender and see if the light stays off. If not, put heavier oil in and drive it till she dies because repairing the problem is probably more expensive than a good used engine.
