I want to know how to service my Vespa scooter.

  • Anonymous Mar 13, 2011

I have a Piaggio Vespa 125cc scooter and would like to try and service the engine myself. E.g. change the oil, spark plugs, filter etc., What equipment/tools would I need? How long will it take me?
    Many thanks.

What kind of care you have in mind, either general or just the engine maintenance. Let me know if I will be more.

High rollers, this work would take about 30 minutes. But you could have time to go from 50 to 120 minutes.
You need to have a cross and a normal screwdriver, keys, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19 may also be increased 22 mm. More dishes which need a flat to let the old oil. Ensure that could fit in there for about 2-3 l. the engine is about 1 L, but this dish is easier to operate than it can accommodate more. resisting the funnel, you need to add new oil. And, of course, the new oil.

Thank you. i'm not sure what "keys, 8, 10, 11etc mean? Also "more flat dishes"? I have never done this before and have no idea where to even look! Can you do a Step 1, Step 2 so that I know how to go about it.
    Many thanks

I mean the EU metric nut keys. If you have the keys already exist then I can explain further. If you have not already done so, then you will also be difficult to understand.
Where land teasute. According to this response we could be specified according to instructions from the point of care.

Not a problem really; want to know how to change the back tire, replace spark plug and do oil change on my Vespa LX 150 (2007). Thanks! Debbie

frankly speaking:
how come you think it is "not a problem" to do such service jobs on a Vespa LX if you are not a mechanic and don't have all the tools required?
- sure you could try it - but you need enough time to check the workshop manual and get the proper tools. (eg. sometimes the nut on the rear axle is stuck and need to be heated by a torch)
- to change the tubeless tire you will need also a tire changing machine which only tire shops or bikedealers have. https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/view/26764401/service-station-manual-vespa-lx-125-150-4t-euro-3
