I believe i have a weak battery on my car when i tried starting the car after it had sat a month it was dead. I boosted it and it started and run fine. I bought a trickle charger and put it on the battery. with the battery still attached to the car. Next time i tried to start the car it was still low on power, and only rapidly clicks while trying to start. Even with a boost the car only rapidly clicks. The car was totally sound before the trickle charge, besides the weak battery. could the trickle charge have done something to effect the sloeniod or starter?

I have a 2006 blue viper, you have to start it once a week or you will be buying new batterys all the time. It's just that kind of car.

The charger shouldn't have hurt the battery but corrosion is caused by fumes from the battery being charged or used. If you know the cable ends are clear, the battery probably has a dead cell and will need replaced. Most parts stores will do a load test on the battery for free.

Toyota avalon 2000 battery flat ...put starter pack on battery start pack fully charged .....did not start car only clicked starter motor gone ?

Those starter packs are really for a boost . If your battery is dead
its better to replace it especially Toyota they seem to be finicky about a good stiff battery
if you have a multi meter put it on the battery terminals and have someone try to crank while observing the voltage
if the voltage drops below 10 volts usually that battery is on the road to letting you down

On my 2002 CR-V Honda it started not wantin to crank let it sat awhile it wld crank now it wont crank at all what could be it be the Starter/Alternator

If it won't crank at all the battery is too weak or bad. Try boosting. If ti goes with a boost, check battery and batery circuits for problems, re-charge the battery. Don't forget to chceck the fluid level in the battery as well as the gravity to see what condition its in.

Dead battery boost

Try charging it with a trickle charger. It might come back.
The alternator circuit is tricky and requires some battery power to excite the electromagnets in the alternator to start producing power.
It may or may not have been triggered by the boosting battery.

Car will not start. Air flow sensor was replaced and new battery. Car will run sometimes and not others. Will start with a boost.

The fact that it starts if boosted leads me to believe that you may have a drained or defective/dead battery. Have the battery charged and tested after its been charged. Also check your charging system and connections.
