On most vintage bikes, the seat is supported by a "T-bar" that connects to the frame between the fuel tanks on the front end and is supported by the spring seat post in the rear. Most of the solo saddles were designed to bolt to the "T-bar". Simply remove the "buddy seat" and bolt on the solo.

Now there are some conversion kits made that eliminate the spring seat post and bolt the saddle directly to the frame. Others have coil springs in the rear. These are better if mounting a solo on a rigid frame machine.

Im looking at an '04 road king custom to buy. Quetion is, is the seat a two piece where it can become a solo seat?

Depends on the type of seat that is on it. I don't think the stock seats are two piece. But, there are seats available to convert it to a solo bike. Mustang is the best buy for the money in my book.

I'm trying to install an air ride solo seat from a police Road King on a Road King, I can't seem to find any reference on installation. Can you help?

I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with the seat you are working with. If the seat is made by someone other than Harley Davidson, they may have a website at which you can get installation instructions. If they are not posted, contact the company via e-mail or telephone and ask for installation directions.

How do I change my stock solo seat to a low profile solo seat on a 2006 Sportster 883C?

Buy a new seat, take the old one off and put the new one on. Seriously, if you buy a low profile seat made for an 06 883 then it should go on just like the original. If not, there should be installation instructions with the new seat that shows you where to move the hold down screw to.
The low profile seat will most likely fit exactly how your current one does.

Need a suitable seat.

Get on the web and Google > motorcycle salvage harley davidson

If you can't find it there, you won't find it at all. And the price should be good as well!

Please rate my answer as " FixYa " if able to. Thanks!
