the spark plug tubes seals are part of the valve cover gasket most valve covers toque to 80-105 INCH pounds and ther spark plugs on a COLD head are 15-21 FOOT lbs HOT are 15 FOOT lbs.
Loosen the bolts on the front of the camshaft and the crankshaft... slide off the gears (or use a puller if difficult to remove). Replace your chain and gears. Replace with new bolts. Old bolts are slightly stretched from being torqued. The elasticity of the old bolts will not allow the proper torques without breaking or loosening again later. Use an impact wrench that has torque settings. An ordinary torque wrench is difficult to use as the motor wants to turn. Use the torque settings from a list of specifications for your engine.
1
Measure the chain's tension with a ruler. Move the center
point of the bottom half of the drive chain with your hand. Take a
measurement of the chain's movement as you push the chain up and down as
far as it will go. The chain should have a free range of movement
between 0.8 to 1.2 inches. If the chain's free range is greater than 1.2
inches, you need to tighten the chain. Alternatively, loosen the chain
if it has less than 0.8 inches of free movement.
2
Loosen the large nut on the left side of the rear axle with a
32 mm socket and a socket wrench. If more leverage is needed to loosen
the nut, use a long-handled breaker bar.
3
Loosen the chain adjuster blocks on both side of the rear
swing arm with a pair of 10 mm wrenches. Hold the blocks' adjustment
bolt's head steady with one wrench and loosen the bolt's lock nut with
the other wrench.
4
Turn both adjustment bolts an equal number of turns with a
10 mm wrench to adjust the chain's tension. Turn the adjustment bolts
clockwise to loosen the chain, or counterclockwise to tighten the chain.
Check that the edge of both chain adjuster blocks are evenly aligned
with the adjustment marks imprinted on the swing arm.
5
Check the chain's range of free movement again. Make
adjustments as needed until the chain has a free range of movement
between 0.8 and 1.2 inches.
6
Hold the adjustment bolts steady with a 10 mm wrench and
tighten their lock nuts against the chain adjuster blocks with a second
10 mm wrench. Tighten the axle nut to 72.5 foot-pounds with a 32 mm
socket and a torque wrench. Check the chain's tension again.
if you have everything installed correctly then these valves are a torque value that need a torque wrench to torque the rocker nut to specs.you don`t say if you have change from the factory style head assembly.
The answer can be found in the owners manual, however your will need to undo the wheel nut with a special socket. I got one from the States for about $150. Make sure you get one that fits the MV Agusta wheel nut. It is not the same as the Ducati. The other thing you will need is a torque wrench. The torque settings are in the manual. The last thing you will need is the race stand. If you didn't get one with the bike then be prepared, they are expensive. I have found that my chain stays adjusted for the 6,000 km between services. Considering all that you have to go through to adjust it, and the consequences of getting it wrong ( damage to rims etc from a slipping wrench) I would get a shop to do it. Hope this helps.
impact wrenches are often misused by those who don’t know about their special needs. First of all, it is very important to be careful when tightening a nut or bolt with an impact wrench! Cross threading can occur very easily; a novice may also over-torque a bolt or a nut if they don’t know when to stop. To prevent such problems, always be sure to hand-tighten every nut or bolt before using the impact wrench; if you try to start the nut or bolt with the impact wrench, you won’t be able to feel if the threads are crossed. If the impact wrench is not torque controlled – meaning it will stop when the nut or bolt is tightened to a certain torque – you will need to go slowly, and periodically check the torque value of the nut or bolt to make sure you haven’t tightened it too far.
