Next time it does this, remove/open the gas cap and see if that helps. If so, then the venting system for the gas tank is plugged somewhere, and you're vapor locking.
Clean the carbs, check the 2 rubber membranes, clean jets and air passages with thin wire and SYNC the carbs - with this, you will give the engine cylinders the same amount of fuel/air and the bike will run smoother.
need answer for this same question: many people do in fact since they don't make this part anymore. I suspect there is a relay out that will work if we just knew which one for what car or bike. Even if the plug has to be changed out. Lets solve this for everybody!
