I don't know if this will help but just for GP the 85/86 Shadow are famous for electrical problems. If it is damp and you havn't cleaned the plugs not spark plugs the connector plugs on the wire harness it may have some buildup of that green stuff like a car battery does some time. On mine I ended up changing the coils and the electric fuel pump. You may have a problem with your stator also. Well this is just stuff I would check if it were mine. I got an 86 that runs as good as any of the new bikes that my friends have and just as fast. I hope this helped some.

hi,i have the 1100c model.on my one its on the right hand side and if you take the pastic casing off at the engine just at your front foot peg its under that.i hope that helps.irish biker

I switched the fuse to a 15 instead of a 10 it won't blow the fuse then

check selionoid try jumper between battery terminal and starter terminal, if starter respond selionoid is bad. also there may be a 30 amp fuse strip at that location check this also.

Check all wiring connections on cdi unit - just follow spark plugs leads back. If all cables are ok then you need to check the cdi unit out. Check that cut out switch is not on, although it should not tunr over, if this was the case

try a 13/16 socket with a 3" extension
