Hi, I replaced the switch mounted below the brake handle, but the brake light work intermittently, it seems there a wiring problem somewhere. where to from here. thx

    thanks, i also not that the fuel gauge isn't working, so it could be ground problems

Hi,

The jiggle method is not enough you have to look at the wires. I just did and I found out that all six wires were broken close to the splice. That splice is located close to the back seat.

Hope it hepls.

brake light switch on foot pedal bracket is out of adjust or has just completely failed.which is not uncommon for this particular car

Brake lights work but are very dim

Sounds like a grounding problem. You are having too many problems with unrelated electrical circuitry. Trace wiring harness and double check all wiring that should ground to metal framework.

My brake lights are intermittent. It seems to be

needs replaced . disconect wires and remove switch and replace then connect wires you can check this with a ohmometer when removed .
hope this helps around 10 mins would do this .?

Brake light short

First check to see if the brake switch can be adjusted. It may not be in a good position. If this does not stop the problem, then disconnect the brake switch over night to see if it clears the problem. If it does, then replace brake switch.

it sounds like you have a groung wire problem to the switch !!!!!!!!
