SOURCE: engine bk firering & lose of compression.

Backfiring after warming up can be from many things.

One that comes to mind is carbon deposits on valves, causing them to not close properly. The carbon deposits would also heat up and then ignite air/fuel mixtures before the spark plug can fire.
Or you would have hot exhaust gasses leaking back into the cylinder on intake and that would ignite the fuel.

Tac gauge fluctuating, and engine running rough on acceleration could be a vacuum leak, do you hear a hissing sound when the engine is running? listen closely under the hood. If you have a vacuum leak you would lose power and your RPM would fluctuate oddly. As for the backfire however, there are probably more than just one problem. Its hard to say for sure.

So please, more details, noises you hear, when exactly everything happens etc.
What speed and RPM the engine begins to bog down at, does it stall? What range is ur tac fluctuating at? anything you can think of, throw it on there.

Hope this helps you

check for leaks around the exhaust headers, mine did what yours is doing,i replaced the copper exhaust seals in the head(exhaust ports),air is getting into your exhaust system and it mixes with the unburnt fuel and ignites causing the backfire,i replaced copper seals(about $2nz each) and problem went away

SOURCE: cleaned the carbs, changed the plugs gapped at 34

I would be checking for air leaks, this will give you a lean mixture. In particular look for the seals for the balance tubes and each carb.

SOURCE: Fuel leaking from air box after shutting down

Hi
Thats the float valve seals not shutting off, did you clean them & set the float heights?
The overflows from the carb bottoms must also be blocked for the fuel to fill up the carbs which then leaks into the air filter
Check also that the fuel tap turns off when bike is not running

1997 Ninja was stuttering around 120 klm then loosing power. Changed plugs, air filter, filter in tank, also tank cleaned, carbs cleaned. Still doing it

That vintage of motorcycle I would be checking the plug wires and plug caps for breakdown. Find the darkest place at night, rev your engine and look for arcing from your wires to the engine. It's also time to check for any deterioration of rubber hoses and components. Beautiful bike you have there!!

Why am I having fuel issues with a 97' f-250 7.3 powerstroke, put new sensors on everything, new fuel lift pump, glow plugs, filter, new tank filter, cleaned all the lines from tank to the fuel bowl, s

If this situation occurs after a period of time then check the tank vent correctly at the vent valve on top of the tank. If it occurs reasonably quickly then check the fuel return lines from the injectors to the tank for obstruction ,kinks ,squashed etc preventing the fuel free access to the tank. check the pressure regulator to the pump is holding sufficient pressure to maintain pressure to the pumpin the pump

2002 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R after sitting for a month bike would not start. Got it to start changed spark plugs cleaned Carbs. Bike starts and revs nice. on first gear bike runs great, once in second gear...

Any one of these could be cause of your problem. Sounds like maybe a spark plug coils is bad. Did you gap the plugs? Also sound like secondary fuel injectors not opening fully, and air leaks inbetween intake boots and head. Start bike and let idle Use non-chlorinated brake cleaner spray small squirt on each intake boot find the leak when the bike idles up there is a leak. You can't properly sync multiple carbs if there is even one vacuum or intake leak. Take out spark plugs keep them in their own same cylinders. Read the plugs what do they tell you. Google how to read a spark plug.

Where is the air filter on a 1995 kawasaki ninja zx6r

Hello
The air filter on this bike is under the fuel tank, you will have to remove the seat and there will find the bolt holding the tank down, once this bolt is removed the tank will then just lift up.
Thanks

Bike was running zx6r f2 model 1996 no bother now wont start got spark cleaned carbs, but wont go even with easy start doesnt seem to be taking in fuel even though the carbs are filling up checked valve...

hello this is only a solution

try putting a new float in the carb and check that it isnt flooded or the carb housing is cracked because it could be sucking in air some where and make sure its the right carb for the bike

if this dosent work the cheapest way it to make the valve clearance right as it says in the manual then try it if still not try bumping the bike if this dosent work just ask again

thanks hope it helped

I have a 98 zx6r it runs good around town but as soon as i git on the highy it cuts out. i have clead out the carbs and put new plugs in it clead out the gas and put new filter on it. some times i can git...

Fuel supply... Check in the tank when you use a more constant supply of fuel you are running out or low... check fuel filter or diaphram pump if you have one and take out fuel valve out of the tank and see if the screen is plugged...
