SOURCE: 2006 suzuki sv 650 will

First prove its not the switch that is the problem, unplug it from the loom & short the cables with a paper clip (OW & YG) that would be my first step.

Haedlight is not working on a suzuki vl1500 K5.

Take off the headlight and put power directly to the bulb ( a piece of wire and your car battery will work). If the bulb and fuses are good then try cleaning the starter button. It is a two position switch that both turns the head light off and engages the starter solenoid. If the starter button is defective you will have to replace the right switch assembly to fix the problem.

When i hit the start button nothing happens the switch is good and gets power but doesnt turn bike over

If you have a volt meter hit switch to start and see if voltage is present at positive lead on starter. If your good to there its your starter has gone bad.

Installed new baterry and new alternator...battery or alternator dies in one day

the alternator will not die in one day unless there is a direct short causing diode or coil winding failure which would give signs of smell, melted wires. Disconnect battery and give full charge. what year is this? while vehicle is running you should be able to briefly disconnect positive battery post connection and vehicle will still run if alternator is good. For a new battery to die in one day, one of two things i think has happened. Either the batt is faulty from supplier,( not likely but i have seen it ) or there is a direct draw or grounding taking place whether its direct in the starter selonoid or a direct draw through accessories. Are you sure all switches are off ? Push switches (on interior lights) nothing like dome lights, delayed lights are staying on! Does vehicle start hard like it almost needs a jump. If it has to be (and it takes time). to find out what is drawing the power ( i am old school) disconnect positive power source on batt. 2) disconnect ignition power source on starter. 3) connect pos batt wire to starter, 4) touch positive cable to positive batt post and look for spark or contact. if this reacts then selonoid or starter motor is shorted drawing the current. Or if you have volt meter and know how to use it, this is good to. If checks good then hook ignition connection back on starter.(disconnect pos terminal on batt prior to re-connect) I think the battery is having the life sucked out of it by a short in the system ( A DRAW ) this could be a quick find or fix or this could take days to track down. alot of variables here to try to explain. but i would seek into the starter first as usually this drains the battery quickly .

Jeep doesn't start. Turn key, hear slight click in fuse box but nothing else? Took battery out to be checked Pep Boys says its good, needs a "slight" charge. Went home reinstalled the clean...

clean all connections very good ( batt post connectors, gound wire from batt to frame/motor, also clean starter connections, and alternator connections) I know pep boys checked but you cannot properly check a battery unless it has a full charge!!!!! If it wont accept a full charge then batt is bad, If it charges to a full charge and fails a draw test the batt is bad. also when a draw test is done you can have the charging system checked also to make sure batt is recieving the proper charge input. all inexpensive checks, get it running and take it to a garage, 3 min test usually not even a charge most of the time. NOT A DEALER, and have them show you what they are doing. if you are a female have a male friend go with you or have it done. I dont care what anybody says!!!!!! When it comes to a inexperienced female, the DEALERSHIP,the REPAIR GARAGES will all try to get some kind of MONEY out of you before you leave their place of business.

Starter turning motor over very slowly starter stalls after about half revolution. batt. load test, all connections good.

do a draw test on the starter hook a voltmeter to your batt and hit the starter button if it drops to2or3 volts then comes back up when button is released you need a starter it should only drop to about 6 volts under load

Our 2003 caravan just stopped starting,we have owned this van for 4 mon no problems, only 70000 mls, all of the sudden it won't start, changed out auto safety shut down relay switch, ignition switch still...

Check the starter selenoid, check for corrosion on batt, terminals and inside the cables, tap the starter with a metalic object and try to start the car, if it starts change the starter.
