What level should the engine oil be at for a 1987 Kawasaki ZL1000

I don't know the level the oil should be at. When looking at the window should it be completely full or half or what???

The oil level should be in the center of the window. Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell.

sounds like the float level is set to high and it is laeking out the over flow. try adjusting float level.

KAWASAKI ZL 1000 HOW MANY QUARTS OF OIL WHEN DOING AN OIL CHANGE?

On the oil fill port, there will be a number with cc after it. That is how many cc's of oil your crankcase holds. There are 946cc in one quart.

Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. look up your model on there, seats normally have a key lock just under it. or maybe built into the ignition. oil filler will be on either left or right crankcase. it'll either have a dipstick or viewing window to see the level
