NO ! Prime is as it says , to prime fuel ! On or reserve is correct !!

Testimonial: "also i am having trouble with it losing engine power when it is on on so what could it be carb or petcock or vacumm??????? and can i run it on reserve for the time being instead of on???"

What should I do to my VN800 classic 1996

I am sure the carbs will need to be cleaned. Sitting that long is not good. I would also recommend doing the plugs for the same reason. Make sure your petcock is turned on also.
