My little Sangean has stopped working when asked to draw power from its batteries (when not hooked up to AC and you press "on", it goes to the station for an instant and then flashes E) but it continues to draw power from the batteries and they have maintained the preset station information over a couple of weeks. I've tried several different sets of batteries to no avail. The radio works fine when hooked up to electricity, but that kind of negates its appeal as a portable. Any suggestions? And...if it has to go back to Sangean to be repaired, is it worth it, it's about 6 years old? Thanks, Ed Waldock
Remove the battery compartment door and the batteries. There should be a small hole marked "reset" under the upper battery cradle. Press (gently...until it clicks) and hold for 5 seconds. Replace batteries and try again.
Has this been resolved yet? Mine worked fine yesterday and today I get nothing but three zero's (000) in the screen...no buttons work (and the lock switch is off). Has anyone run into the issue of no power (note: I have only used battery power so far with the radio).

I got myself a SIEMENS RK 659, which is SANGEAN ATS 606 equivalent. I have a problem which is almost similar. I have been using it with an adapter. But when i change to using batteries, after a couple of days (in off position) suddenly the radio just stop working. I tried using the adaptor but to no avail. Help please!
Yes, mine "eats" batteries, now. It is about 6 years old. With the radio on or off, I still have to change out the batteries every three days. It's maybe only on for 4-6 hours total during that time. Sometimes, only an hour or two. I put the lock on whenever I turn it off, so there's no chance of it accidently turning on. And, I use top quality Rayovac industrial batteries in this radio as well as other appliances. The battery type/brand is definitely not the problem.
I bought this new from the US. Couldn't get it started because of 240/125v difference (fuse blown?). Can you have a look for repair? Thanks
