Hi there:
Just Ford cars uses the Inertia Switch on their vehicles. If you are not getting fuel pressure firts I suggest check fuses and fuel pump electrical connections... the most common cause is a faulty fuel pump (fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank).

Hope this helps.

I just wrecked my 03 elantra and it didn't damage anything but windshield but it won't start is there something I need to reset on it

There should be a inerta cutoff switch that shuts off the fuel pump when you have a crash. It could be under the dash on the drivers side or possibly in the trunk. It would have a little button that needs to be pushed in to reset it.

2002 L300 saturn fuel cutoff or inerta switch locati on please

Hi Stevethis is a strange one but these vehicle do not have a cut off switch it looks like you may have an immobiliser fault instead, when you turn the key can you hear the fuel pump humming inside the fuel tank? just turn key to on ( do not turn it over) and just listen, some will only hum for a few seconds and stop others will continue humming, listen out for yours, get someone to turn the key to the on position while you listen for it, if you do not hear anything, try checking the fuel pump relay this can be found in the under-hood fuse box, On the s-series the fuel pump fuse is located in the car on bottom right side of the centre console also have a look at this if you have the s-model hope this helps

Inerta switch in 2000

Nissan doesn't use inertia switches; that's a "Ford thing." As stated, check your basics as mentioned and don't forget about checking compression, too: check spark, check fuel, check timing.

Good luck.

I have a 95 ford ranger 3.0 The fuel pump will not will not pump (run) I have checked the fuse and relay. I have also check the inerta switch and it checked ok. the ignition switch checked ok. What...

The next step is to take a 12v test light and check for power+ground at the tank, if you've got power and a good ground but still no sound from the pump, then it's time to replace it.(be sure the key is on while testing) hope this helps.
