Hi the roadwin is a fourstroke engine and the gearbox is 1unit, so the engine oil lubricates the gearbox also, ( no need for gearbox oil) Regards, paul
The oil capacity is marked on engine side as well as gearbox side. On gearbox side there is a 8mm screw just before the clutch cover. Take this bolt out and fill until the oil start coming out this hole, should be about 600ml. Do not use full synthetic oil in gearbox, this does not work well with the clutch friction plates. On the engine side put about 500ml (depending if you changed the oil filter as well), then check level with diptstick by placing diptstick in hole WITHOUT SCREWING IT IN. Fill with little bits at a time until you reach the max mark on the diptstick. Start engine and warm up. Shut down and leave for 3 minutes. Check oil again. DO NOT overfill engine side.
hi yes the gearbox and engine are all 1 unit on this bike, the engine oil lubricates the gearbox no need for a seperate oil, warning do not use gear oil in this engine, use a good semi sinthetic engine oil hope this helps
The VL1500 has a integral gearbox, it uses the same oil supply as the engine. Once you drain the engine oil you will be changing the gearbox oil. Suzuki's are not like Harley's with a seperate gearbox, also it will pay to use a good quality oil filter.
NO the engine oil only tops off the engine it self and the gear box uses a different oil and to top it off and check is different from the engine dip stick. Good luck and your manual should tell you when it's time to service your gear box oil.
Drain the oil and put 750ml back into the gearbox. If your bike doesn't have a dipstick and you have good, clean oil in it, drain it into a plastic bowl then put it right back into the engine but measure it before you pour it back in. When you get 750ml in the box then look at the level in the box. That is the level to maintain.
engine oil has a filler cap on top of the engine, and the gearbox oil goes in the filler plug on the side of the gearbox when i refilled one last week after putting a clutch in one .
Can you use GTX car oil?
