Hey I bought a used Stryker about a year ago and since Yesterday i think my chain got more loose. While driving the Vehicle appears to be jumping forward, espacally bad it is when accelerating, then inside of short intervalls it gives away small pushes forward which sound like tiny shots.(really hard two describe). Also there is a metallic noise which came with the Pushes, like when two metall peaces are constantly rubbing against each other. Driving is only possible in the highest gear and really slow, otherwise these pushes make it impossible. While driving like this the metallic sound is the loudest. A friend who's got some exprience with Vehicles rewied the chain and immidiadly figured it is too loose, so I guess if those "symptoms" don't point to another Problem im asking how to tighten the chain of my Kymco ?

Sounds like the chain is that loose it is slipping on the cog/s, check the cogs for wear ie no tooth damage, adjust the chainif cogs ok. better still change cogs and chain to be safe.

I have an old snowblower (ca. 1980's?) that runs like a top - the only problem is that the auger drive chain pops off the rear (smaller) sprocket in heavy snow, no matter how tightly (or loosely)

First remove the chain--- lay it flat on the floor --streched lengthwaze . grab either end and pull out and push back--- if chains length moves more than a quarter of a inch ---replace the chain. Next inspect the sprokets, if they are worn inward on the side they will let the chain drop on too far making the chain jump and rattel as it runs and this will throw the chain. Next inspect allignment of each spoket to the next sprokets with belt drive the belt will flex and this is not critical with chain drive this will load one side of each spoket causing the chain to jump off.

Hi just got a kymco stryker, the bloke said that it would make a clunkin sound in 2nd 3rd and 5th (sounds like the chain jumping) but on the way home , he said it was best to stay out of 5th,i did so...

I doubt that the chain was jumping the sprocket. A chain that loose would wrap up around the front sprocket and lock up the engine and/or bust up the center case. It sounds like the bike has some serious transmission problems. The bike probably has bent shift forks and a few busted gear teeth and possibly broken dogs on a slider gear. The bloke ripped you off. The wheel being out of line is not a factor. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Chain is slipping and jumping gears

okay lets ask why it broke did it get jammed?was it worn?is your front crankset or rear gearset loose with play in it?does the chain make a clicking while pedalling hard? first and last require a replacement chain because it broke for a reason.if your drive gears are loose then you will have to adjust/repair them also checking adjustment on the derailuers should be checked.
hope this helps
