1993 Yamaha YZF 750 R will not turn over
Hey David, yes, there is an intrusion of water somewhere its not supposed to be..(did you use a power washer?)-DO NOT AGAIN..
Leave the bike in the sun, with the seat open.. it will(should) dry eventually...
Oil in cylinder
Oil in the cylinders mean worn rings or worn valve stem seals. You can try a blow down test to see if it is rings - get an old spark plug and bust out the ceramic weld in a fitting to press with air and air up the cyl. if you here air in the crankcase you have worn rings. You just have to replace the valve guide seals no test there.

o to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part and/or the notation "Not Available" is in the description, the part is not in stock. www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrandand/parts.aspx
I found an ignition switch for a '94 at Babbitts'. It should be the same one for a '93.
Could you take a moment and rate my answer? Thanks!
Wont Start ...
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Initially, on your problem that "
it won't start" determine if it is an electrical issue or a fuel issue.
Checks:
- does it crank (starter motor spins);
- is there fuel when you loosen the drain screws at the bottom of the bowls of each carb;
- is there spark? remove 1 plug, reconnect to wire, lay it against engine and crank. Note for sparks at tip.
Postback results of tests.
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Engine will run ok from
Hello,
There could be several things that would cause your problem;
Wrong spark plug gap - too wide
CDI - The capacitive-discharge ignition uses capacitor discharge current output to fire the spark plug.
Bad gas
I would start by stabilizing your fuel to see if this is the issue. Buy a can of Sea Foam and a bottle of Sta-bil fuel stabilizer. Follow the directions on both of these items when filling your tank (use both together). Use premium fuel when filling up for this time. Run a full take through your system. When filling up again, you may use a lower grade of fuel if you want, but use the Sea Foam again. The Ethanol added to fuel these days can cause valve deposits that will lead to engine issues. You don't have to use the Sea Foam in every tank of fuel you buy - just use it once or twice a month.
Hope this helps. If you find this information helpful, please vote on this post.
