i have searched the web , as i'm sure you have to, and can not find anything relating to this issue, i would contact honda motorcyle dealer and either get them to do it or get a driver's manual or just live with it,sorry could'nt have been more helpful

SOURCE: scoopy There is a fuel shutoff valve on the bottom of the tank that stops fuel flow when the engine is not running. At a guess while the scooter was in storage the fuel evaporated from the carby and fuel lines. Now you are trying to start it again the fuel is slowly flowing down to the carby but not fast enough to fill the carby and start the engine. You are probably close to starting if you cranked it for about 1 minute. Three posibilities, keep cranking, keep adding fuel to the inlet to keep it kicking over until the carby gets fuel or take the vacuum line off the carby and suck on it for a while to let the fuel flow down to the carby. Either way you should be close to it starting assuming its just the fuel shortage in the carby.

There are automotive electric repair shops that can replace or repair parts inside of your alternator that will usually cost less than replacing the alternator. The problem is that you have to take the bad alternator to the place and typically drop it off for however long it takes them to get to it. Most people would tell you to just replace it.

Valve clearance need adjusting a fraction. not dangerous, better to be a tad loose than too tight and have valves partially open. Hi, Leoveli the vast majority of service, parts fiche, and owners manuals on the internet are "FREE" to download and all service manuals contain specs-fluid requirements and capacities and wiring diagrams in the back pages. Another "FREE" source is online libraries you can join for a one month "FREE" trial then cancel at the end of the month. The rest usually charge a modest fee from $15-$20 and there is a handful of obscure, rare, obsolete, and very old models that are no longer or never were available, for these rare occasions I shall look on eBay and find the cheapest one available. Most of the manuals will cover your exact make, model, and year otherwise one will be provided that comes as close as possible to your bike and will have most of the same info that an exact manual would have. A too tight tappet adjustment can do more than reduce mileage - it effectively changes the valve timing and can lead to burned valves and seats. It is best not to prejudge such situations - it is generally believed the expansion of metals when the engine is at working temperature causes the tappet clearance to reduce. This isn't always the case when an aluminium cylinder head is used. Aluminium expands a much greater amount than steel and so working temperature can cause the valve clearances to increase.

This sounds like it may be a vacuum leak. When more air than normal is leaking into the engine, the idle will be higher than normal. The easiest way to find a vacuum leak is to take some carburetor cleaner or WD-40 and spray it around the areas where you suspect a leak may exist. If the engine idle goes up when you spray, there is a leak around that area.

A carburetor rebuild kit costs around $20-30 on ebay. These are very simple carburetors. Once it is off the engine, it is simply a matter of removing the old parts, cleaning the carburetor body, and reassembly.
