2001 Honda Deauville NTV 650 lumpy

Whenever you're installing spark plugs there's two things you really have to watch out for number one being the spark plug gap each motor has a specific Gap specification that allows the spark to take place now also if you have the wrong gap size and also if you didn't use a torque wrench to put your spark plugs in your spark plugs could either be too tight or they could be too loose that is why you get a torque wrench to find out exactly where it needs to be

Backfire

I have had this issue before. The problem is that you don't have enough back pressure. which is basically how much pressure it takes for the exhaust to exit the pipe. what you would need to do is add baffling the plates and tubes in the end of the pipe to add back pressure.

Cant start bike after standing for 6 weeks even

Check to see if you're getting a strong blue spark at the plugs. If the spark is there, ensure you have good fuel in the tank and fuel flows from the petcock when you open it. If your fuel is good and flowing, you could try using a spray bottle to spray a little gas into the throat of the carburetor. If the bike fires after spraying the gas into the carburetor, there's a good chance your floats may have stuck in the up position. You will need to at least take the float bowls off and clean the floats and needles.

I have to ceck drain the carbs on my deauville

hi,this might help,as with most bikes the body panels are held in by lugs which fit into a rubber gromett mounted onto the chassis,,remove the seat first, carefully pry the body panel out about 1/4 inch or so untill you can see the mounting lugs which are part of the body panel, once you can see one of them, gently pull it out of the chassis mounting lug..be carefull it doesnt take much to break them, once you have one out of its holder the rest will be easy to see and just gently pry them out..i normally use a little bit of rubber grease when reinstalling them,it just makes them easier to remove next time..hope this helps..cheers

Found radiator leaking and topped up coolant

Sufficient fluid in the reservoir does not necessarliy mean that the radiator is full. If you have fixed the radiator leak, let the engine cool down and the radiator will draw coolant in from the reservoir until it (the radiator) is full. Make sure the reservoir does not go dry while this is happening - and do not remove the radiator cap until after everything cools off completely.
There's no check valve in the cooling system, although the radiator cap does serve such a purpose when there's a reservoir attached.

I have just bought a Deauville NT650 and have

I HAVE LOWERED AMERICAN MADE BIKES AND IT DOES NOT ALTER HANDLING AT ALL. IF YOU ARE MECHANICALLY INCLINED, HAVE THE RIGHT TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT, READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS, YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY TROUBLE DOING THE JOB YOURSELF. MAKE SURE THAT YOU MEASURE THE VERY BOTTOM OF YOUR BIKE BEFORE YOU START THE WORK TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH CLEARANCE YOUR GOING TO END UP WITH, TOO LOW WILL GIVE YOU PROBLEMS WITH THE SPEED BUMPS.

Engine will not turn over.

If you are starting the bike, warming it up, and shutting it off, You have probably fouled out the spark plugs. When I worked at a dealership we stopped the practice of starting up the cycles for potential buyers because each bike would foul out 3,4,even 5 sets of plugs before it was delivered just because people wanted to hear it run.

Honda PC50 moped VIN decoder

To read the serial number on a Honda PC50 moped, follow these steps: Locate the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number): The VIN is a unique code that provides information about your moped. On a Honda PC50, you can find the VIN in the following places: Under the Air Filter Cover: Look on the left-hand side, just above the engine. The VIN should be stamped there. It typically looks like this: PC50 - 1234567. Frame Number: The frame number is another term for the VIN. It's usually located near the air filter body. Decode the VIN: The VIN contains important details about your moped, including the year of manufacture. Here's how to interpret it: The 9th digit of the VIN is a check digit. The 10th digit represents the year code. For example: A = 1980 B = 1981 C = 1982 D = 1983 E = 1984 F = 1985 G = 1986 H = 1987 J = 1988 K = 1989 L = 1990 M = 1991 N = 1992 P = 1993 R = 1994 S = 1995 T = 1996 V = 1997 W = 1998 X = 1999 1 = 2000 2 = 2001 3 = 2002 Note that if your scooter was manufactured between February 1986 and February 1987, it's likely to be a '87 model; Additional Resources: If you have the full VIN, you can use the NHTSA VIN decoder to get detailed information about your moped. Alternatively, you can call Honda with your VIN, and they will provide you with the necessary information.
