Need a wiring schematic for a 93 fatboy Harley davidson

put a multimeter on the coil wire , set the meter to 12 volts dc and turn on the ignition it will be either 12 volts ( 12volt coil ) or 7.5 volts ( 7.5 volts coil) this system is used on may electrical ignitions meaning it starts on 12 volts ( maximum spark with reduced voltage under cranking ) but runs on 7.5 volts ( resistor controlled voltage )

Back brakes

What kind of noise??? A light squeal or more of a grinding \noise???? Check the brake pad friction material condition and height from backing plate. If you cannot check this yourself have someone else do it soon.

My 2003 Fatboy's fuel light comes on, but the tank will only take about 2.5 to 3 gallons of fuel.

When the ignition switch is ON the fuel gauge is connected to 12 VDC, current flows through the gauge and the variable resistor in the fuel gauge sending unit to ground. The sending unit float controls the amount of resistance in the variable resistor. Malfunctioning fuel gauges may be the result of a fuel gauge sender or a fuel gauge not being properly grounded OR there may be a defect in the fuel gauge sender or in the fuel gauge itself OR there may be an open circuit caused by a loose or disconnected connection or a broken wire between the ignition switch to the fuel gauge. A suspect fuel gauge system can be tested by FIRST removing the gauge and grounding the Y/W wire of the fuel gauge sender located at the bottom of the gauge, turning the ignition switch ON at which point the fuel gauge must indicate FULL. And if it does so then the fuel gauge is functioning correctly. And if it does not read FULL then get a multimeter set to the RX1 scale and measure the resistance of the sending unit by placing one of the meter probes on the Y/W wire and the other probe on a good ground. THEN for Softail if the fuel tank is full, the reading should be 27-40 ohms. an empty tank should have a 240-264 ohm resistance and a half full tank will be approximately 97-118 ohms. FOR ALL MODELS if there is a very highmeter resistance or infinity reading the sender may be "open" or not grounded. In this case check to see if the sender and fuel tank are grounded by placing one of the ohmmeter probes on the flange of the sender and the other probe on crankcase and if the ground is good the meter must indicate one ohm or less and if the reading is one ohm or less the sender is defective and requires replacement and if a higher resistance reading is obtained you will need to check for a poor ground wire. THENyou can check the voltage to the O/W (+) wire and the BK (-) wire of the fuel gauge connector if the gauge did not indicate FULL and the correct reading will depend on the source voltage and the level of fuel in the tank or the position of the sender float arm on the variable resistor etc. If there is NO battery voltage present there may be a broken, highly corroded or disconnected power wire. If you cannot find a problem using the above testing replace the gauge itself.

I have a 2003 Fatboy fuel injected. I recently got the fuel gauge repaired. After leaving the dealer, I put 170 miles before the fuel light came on. I filled the tank to the top, and it only took 3

Yes, your fuel gauge was not properly repaired in all likelihood. Take it back and advise them of this. ALSO:When the ignition switch is ON the fuel gauge is connected to 12 VDC, current flows through the gauge and the variable resistor in the fuel gauge sending unit to ground. The sending unit float controls the amount of resistance in the variable resistor. What is the drain plug that is on the right side of the bike at the front of the engine. Looks like a second oil drain

It is not a second oil drain, the only oil drain is from the oil tank at the rear . DO NOT touch the front one you are talking about.

4 ways are on and can not get them off?

The 2003 Softail TSM/TSSM's turn signal feature provides for Automatic cancellation; Manual cancellation; Four-way flashing and Diagnostics mode.

Turn signals can only be activated or deactivated with the ignition key in the "IGN" position, not the "ACC" position.

If you press the left or right turn switch the signal will activate both the turn signal operation/illumination and the automatic cancellation function. If you press the button a second time the signal will cancel. Also if you have one signal on and you press the opposite signal switch button the first set signal will cancel and the second pressed side will operate. However if you do not press the signal switch button the second time the signal will remain on and will not cancel while you are approaching the turn but will only automatically cancel after the TSM/TSSM senses that the turn has been completed because when the signal switch button is depressed the TSM/TSSM starts to count to twenty after which it will cancel the signal function if speed is not reduced below 7 MPH but as long as the speed of the motorcycle is above 7 MPH or is stopped the signals will not cancel until speed is resumed to above 8 MPH at which time the 20 count will resume and the signal will cancel after the end of the 20 count. The signals will also cancel within two seconds after the bank angle sensor in the TSM/TSSM senses more than a 45 degree lean of a turn action after which the motorcycle returns to a normal upright riding position. As well the TSM/TSSN will calibrate itself after it senses that he motorcycle has been ridden for one quarter of a mile or four tenths of a kilometer at steady speeds in an upright position. ON

The TSM/TSSM also flashes the signal simultaneously as four way flashers whenever the ignition is set "ON" , the security system is not activated and both signal switch buttons are simultaneously depressed. If you have to leave the motorcycle where it is with the four signal lights flashing they will continue to flash for two hours if while they are flashing you turn off the ignition switch and activate/arm the security system but if you turn the ignition switch is turned on, disarm/deactivate the security system and depress both signal light switch buttons simultaneously the four lights will cease to flash before the two hour period is up.

An auto arming feature that is not always active on domestic motorcycles but is user selectable on these models but that is always active on HDI models Auto-arming requires that the four-way flashers be activated within 30 seconds of key OFF or after the vehicle has been disarmed. This allows a vehicle to be left in a secured state with the four lights flashing until they are turned off as described above.

If the four way flashers are not turned of before the security system is disarmed/deactivated then the TSSM will stop four way flashing for one second and then per flash the lights one time to signal that the system has been disarmed/deactivated and then after one more second the four way flashing will resume.

When there is a burned out light bulb on one side of the motorcycle, the remaining light on that side and the turn signal indicator light on that side will flash at double the normal rate after the fifth flash so if that happens check your signal light bulbs.

As the TSM/TSSM also diagnoses for signal wiring short circuits and opens AND for stuck signal light switches if there is a stuck turn signal light switch the automatic turn signal cancellation feature will not work and the signal will continue to flash AND if there is a stuck turn signal switch the four way flashers will only be activated if both of the turn signal switch buttons are held in for more than one second so if the four way flashers are on when a signal switch becomes stuck you may have to hold them in for a longer period of time to cancel them also.

Otherwise if you are having turn signal or four way flasher problems you should check for TSM/TSSM trouble codes.

sounds like you may have the wrong gauge for the sender or a sender unit wrong for the gauge ,take it back to the dealer and get them to sort it out cheers

Have you checked the MAXI fuse ? Changed the battery in your FOB and make sure the FOB battery is installed properly? If all are good then it is a TSSM orHSSM problem.

Petrol leaking from where hose joins tank

First, make sure the fuel line itself isn't cracked/torn from age. Then check if the leak is actually where the hose meets the petcock (fuel shutoff), as if the hose clamp is loose. Finally, if it's coming from where the petcock meets the tank, it's sealing washer (o-ring, gasket, etc) needs replacing.

2007 fatboy will not start

You say it won't start but we need a bit more information than that. Does it do anything? What lights are illuminated? Security system related?

I can only tell you this with the amount of information that I have. The usual life of a battery in a Softail is about two years. This is because the battery is mounted inside the "horseshoe type" oil tank and the hot oil in the tank heats up the battery. This is one of the drawbacks of the this type of oil tank.

Remove the seat from your bike by removing the two large bolts, one on each side of the seat. Lift up and pull back on the seat once you have the bolts out. Disconnect the battery, negative side first, and take it to an automotive parts house and have them test the battery. If the battery is good or you purchase a new battery, when installing always connect the negative last. Disconnect negative first, reconnect it last.

If you bike still does not start, please repost and we'll take another shot at it. Good Luck.
