There does not appear to be a 61006 DTC. There is a DTC B1006 which is Accessory Line Overvoltage There

Ignition and accessory voltage is constantly monitored by the speedometer (terminal 1 ignition and terminal 6 accessory). If

the battery voltage fails to meet normal operating parameters, a DTC is set. DTC B1006 is set or displayed when accessory line voltage is greater than 16.0 volts for longer than 5 seconds.

Push a bolt or plug into the open end of the pipes and clamp with a hose clip. Fill the tank and see where the fuel is coming from? Sounds like it is operating as it should now. Maybe it was a software update. Why would you want to risk starting it in gear?
