What are the miles,. Last time fuel filter checked?

Did you drain the fuel before storage and use new fuel Check the spark plugs for spark and gap Test injectors for spray flow does the fuel pump prime when key is turned if not check pump wiring and fuel lines

disconnect and reconnect battery

The battery is 12 volts

All 1150 and 1100 GS bikes had a drain and fill plug on the final drive. The R1200GS did not come with a fill plug and the drain plug was located on the rear of the final drive on the early machines. It has since been relocated to the bottom of the housing on later models.

Have you checked the valve clearances and rocker arm end play?? Do you know how to check/adjust the valve clearances?

That would be your first step, then if still noisy on startup only changing the cam chain tensioner would be the next logical step.

frist remove you seat and side covers there isnt much to take off but you need to. after that you'll see you fuel lines on the right hand side i pretty sure the 03 have the clip together lines kinda like a boat gas tank but smaller undo them. there will be a bolt on both sides of the tank remove them and slowly left the tank off

purchase some chemtool B-12carb spray around your throttle body. may have manifold hose leaks. when you spary it and the idle increases then thats where the problem is. can i get some feed back thanks.

heat the oil filter up buddy with a torch(flame) this will expand the metal and losen it off

open the bleeder, and let stand, gravity should do the rest, unless youve got some sort of blockage.

Check your owners manual for location of your fuse box. You will probably find connections for accessories. If not make sure you use an inline fuse on the positive connection and then ground to the frame.....Good Luck and Nice Bike!
