1994 Cadillac Fleetwood Radio. Once turned on the display cuts out, you can tune the radio to a station. The problem i'm having is that the radio will go from low volume to very high and then cut off and continue the cycle. I found if i wait till it gets higher and shut it off the radio will play at that volume and not cycle through. Any suggestions?

Most likely, you will have to remove the radio
& take it to a car radio shop

Not many around anymore

They usually resolder whatever & put a
new belt on your Cassette or CD Drive & your good to go

How to program the radio in a 96Lincoln continental after battery was disconnected

Hi,

Here is the link to the owners manual which you can download if you wish:

http://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePage&year=1996&make=Lincoln&model=Continental

Here/below are the specific instructions on the radio programming (pg. 159 of above link).

Good luck & please flag if "HELPFUL". Thanks!

(from section) Luxury Audio System

Selecting the AM or FM frequency band

Push the "AM" or "FM1/FM2" button to select the desired frequency band. Pushing the "FM1/FM2" button more than once will alternate between FM1 and FM2. These functions are used with the station memory buttons described under How to tune radio stations.

HOW to tune radio stations

There are four ways for you to tune in a particular station. You can use the "TUNE", "SEEK", 'SCAN"or memory buttons.

• Using the "TUNE" function:
You can change the frequency up or down one increment at a time by Pressing and releasing either the left (< arrow/up) or - right (> arrow/down) side of the "TUNE" or "TUNE DISCS" button. To change frequencies quickly, press and hold down either the right or left side of the button.

Manual tuning adjusts your radio to any allowable broadcast frequency, whether or not a station is present on that frequency. (See All About Radio Frequencies in this section.)

• Using the "SEEK" function
: Press the right *) side of the "SEEK" button to select the next listenable station up the frequency band. Press the left (.4) side of the button to select the next listenable station down the frequency band. By holding the button down, listenable stations can be passed over to reach the desired station. Pressing the "SCAN" button will begin the scan mode up the frequency band, stopping on each listenable station for approximately five seconds. To stop the scan mode on the presently sampled station, press the "SCAN" button again.

Setting the station MEMORY PRESET buttons
: Your radio is equipped with 6 station memory buttons. These buttons can be used to select up to 6 preset AM stations and 12 FM stations (6 in FMI and 6 in FM2)

1. Select a band, then select a frequency.

2. Press one of the memory buttons and hold until the sound returns and the lamp above the memory button lights up. That
memory button is now set.

3. Follow the above steps for each memory preset button.

NOTE:
Custom memory presets can be recalled using the keyless entry system. See Memory Profile System in the Features chapter.

Using the Automatic Memory Store feature ("AUTOSET")
: If the memory buttons have been set, either by using the Auto Memory Load feature or if you have set them manually, the system is prepared tolet you use a convenient feature called Automatic Memory Store.

With Auto Memory Store, you can continually set strong stations into your memory buttons without losing your originally set stations. Your radio will automatically set your memory buttons to the strong local stations.

Activate Auto Memory Store by pushing the "AUTOSET" button once. Your radio will set the first six strong stations of the band you are in (AM, FMI or FM2) into the memory buttons. The display will flash "AUTO" and display the autoset icon "A" while the stations are being set in the memory buttons.

NOTE: If there are less than six strong stations in the frequency band, the remaining unfilled buttons will store the last strong station detected on the band. After all stations have been filled, the radio will begin playing the station stored on memory button 1.

To deactivate the Auto Memory Store mode and return to the manually-set memory button stations, simply push the "AUTOSET" button. Display will show "AUTO" then "OFF". The next time Auto Memory Store is activated on that band, the radio will store the next set of six strong stations.

Lexus radio sound crackles then cuts out altogether

in radio mode, A./m and F/m
and what about other modes. Cassette, CDDA disc? all crackle
if only radio, then connect a test antenna to the radio
solved?>
if not the radio is bad, or DC power to the radio is bad.

cuts out, does that mean, just the sound dies in all modes. (left and right speakers)
or the sound and even the dial lights and station tune data is dead too.

cuts means nothing with out specifics.

I put a replacement radio in a 1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme radio makes noise in right rear speaker when tuning in station.

Hi JPLP, A popping or 'motor boating' sound is usually a sign that one of the transistors is defective. As it happens only when tuning in the radio it is possibly in the pre amp stage. Regards John

Please perform the following procedures while the car is parked. Otherwise you risk getting into an accident while your attention is not focused on the driving. Entering anti-theft code The following is the procedure to re-activate the radio if the display shows "SAFE". It is important that the procedure be followed in the correct order.
  1. Turn on radio. The radio display shows "SAFE".
  2. Press the FM1/2 and DX buttons simultaneously and hold until "1000" shows on the display. Release the buttons. Do NOT press these buttons again, otherwise the radio will consider "1000" to be the code.
  3. Use Preset buttons 1 ... 4 to enter the four-digit code number from your radio card. Preset button 1 corresponds to the first digit, Preset button 2 corresponds to the second digit, etc. Each press of the button increments the number by 1.
  4. Once the code shown on the display is correct, press the FM1/2 and DX buttons simultaneously and hold until the word "SAFE" appears in the display, then release the buttons.
  5. The radio should unlock and be usable shortly afterwards.
  6. If an incorrect code is entered, the word "SAFE" appears, first flashing and then continuously. You can repeat the above steps to unlock the radio once more, the number of attempts will be shown in the display. If an incorrect code is entered again, you radio will be locked for about one hour. After one hour - the radio must stay on and the key must remain in the ignition lock - if the display goes out, the you can repeat the above procedure to unlock again. The cycle - two attempts, one hour lock-up - still applies.
  7. If you lose your radio code, contact your Audi dealer.

Other Preferences & Configurable Options The following is the procedure on how to access some other preferences that you may set in the Audi Delta CC radio.
  • GALA and Turn-on Volume Settings

    1. Turn off radio.
    2. While pressing and holding the TP button, turn on radio. "GALA" will be shown in the display.
    3. To select the speed at which GALA activates, press the tuning up (up-arrow) or tuning down (down-arrow) buttons to the left of the volume control knob. The display shows the following:

      __' Highway speed
      _'_ City speed
      '__ Slow speed

    4. To save the setting, press both the tuning up and tuning down buttons simultaneously. "GALA" disappears.
    5. Press the TP button briefly, "VOL" appears in the display.
    6. To increase or decrease the turn-on volume, press the tuning up or tuning down buttons.
    7. To save the setting, press both the tuning up and tuning down buttons simultaneously. "VOL" disappears.

To activate GALA, push the Treble control knob to let it spring out. Then, pull it out one more detent, and then turn the knob to the right. To deactivate GALA, do the same except turn the knob to the left. Push the knob back in when you're done.

I am trying to hook up a radio in a 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood and I cannot find the antenna. Do you know where it is located or what color wire is it?

The antenna wire is black in color and just lays inside the dash with other wiring next to it. Use a flashlight to find it. If you had removed the old radio the antenna should have been on it so the antenna cable should be close to view
