You preliminary diagnostic about leak is hafl correct, but this is of a clogged A/C drain hose. It's a very common thing to happen. Here some details:

If your vehicle has an A/C drain hose, it will be located on the engine side of the firewall, below where the two A/C lines go through the firewall.

NO: 24-18-94
GROUP: Heating & A/C
DATE: Nov. 18, 1994
SUBJECT: Condensate Drain Tube Eliminated

MODELS:
1994-1995 (AN) Dakota
1993-1995 (XJ) Cherokee

DISCUSSION: The above vehicles no longer use an air conditioner condensate drain tube. Cherokee's built after September 3, 1993 (MDH 09-03-xx) and Dakota's built after June 1, 1994 (MDH 06-01-xx) no longer need the condensate drain tube. Do not install in the field or submit a shortage and error request.

Somewhere just below the Suction and Liquid Lines you will see a small black hose coming through the firewall and pointing down. This is the A/C drain hose. Take a piece of wire and snake out the hose. This will clear the blockage and allow the water to drain out.

You may have to remove the drain hose completely. If so, it just pulls right out and you can slip it back on easily enough.

Hope this helps to solve it (remember to rate and comment this free answer).

If by leaking, you mean there is a puddle of water under the passenger side, (under the engine when parked) then that is normal. Nothing needs to be fixed. If you mean some other kind of leaking please repost and explain more about where and what is leaking.
If this was helpful, please give it thumbs up to help others.

Condensation water from air conditioner soaking front and rear passenger carpets. Where is drain located?

98 grand cherokee limited 5.2L same problem found leak not from heater box but from drain mount on firewall under the glove box not behind it. drain line should be located behind right front tire in the frame. Turn your wheels hard left look inside fender well right side towards back side. hole in frame where drain line should come out.

Air conditioner condensation dripping into the floor.

Check the drain hose, chances are it came loose from the fitting on the AC unit. Make sure the hose goes through the floor board.

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee fluid leak

That is the area the air conditioner vent drains. There aren't a lot of fluids possible - coolant, power steering fluid and transmission fluid are the only ones that would be in that position unless your windshield washer fluid leaks from the tubing. Brake fluid would be closer to the wheels. If the air conditioner runs at all it removes moisture from the passenger compartment and drains near the passenger side firewall. All the other fluids would hae a definite smell.

Heat/ac not working on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

look for Main A/C relay, look for fuses, or go to a/c shop and have gas check out, perhaps leaks, perhaps evaporator, perhaps condenser, but start for relay box on front passengers side, or fuses on same side

Air conditioner leaks (drains)into the front passenger seat floor mat

The a/c drain tube will be located on the firewall. It will be on the passenger side twards the bottom of the firewall. It will be about 3/8 inch in diameter, and about 1-2 inches long sticking out of the firewall. You will probably need to get under the vehicle to gain acess.
