Access to the tail light cluster should be through panels in the rear corners of the vehicle. Remove the panel and you can remove the tail light cluster to replace the bulbs. This is the position on most sedans, unless, like on pick-ups, the tail light lenses have screws which allow the lenses to be removed to change the bulbs.

How do i replace replace rear signal light on 1999 tahoe i have misplaced owners manual

Open your tailgate. You will see the screws that hold the taillight assembly to the body. After the screws are removed, you may have to pry the light assembly GENTLY rearward to get the pins to release from the outside edge of the lamp assembly. Once the taillight assembly is out, you will see where the bulbs go.

The three wires to the tow lights have been cut, and i cant find where in the harness they are cut can i bypass it all and just rerun new wires?

Yes. But do you have seperate yellow turn signal lights in the rear or do the turn signals work independant of the brake lights? If yes then you need to wire in a taillight converter. It takes your seperate left & right turn signals combines them with your brake lights on 2 wires instead of 3 leaving you with your normal 4 wires in total instead of 5. 1 Left turn & brake light. 1 Right turn & brake. 1 Taillight. 1 Ground. = 4 wires in total. If you dont have seperate rear turn signals just find left turn wire in taillight assembly, Right turn wire & Taillight & a good ground & you are done. On trailer plug yellow is left, green is right ,brown is tailight & white is ground.

Left brake light dont work when brake peddel is applied

Replace the bulb,
1. Open the lift gate on the rear of your Blazer or drop it if you have the tail gate that folds down. Locate the screws on the inner edge of the lift gate frame. There are two screws--remove them with a Phillips screwdriver.
2. Slide the taillight assembly out of the rear of the truck, being careful to not break the locating tabs on the rear of the housing. Locate the bulb sockets on the rear of the taillight assembly.
3. Rotate the light bulb socket counterclockwise about a quarter turn to unlock it from the taillight assembly. Pull the socket straight out of the assembly with the bulb attached to it.
4. Remove the bulb from the socket by pulling it straight out of the socket. If you are removing the entire assembly from the truck, remove the remaining sockets from the rear of the taillight assembly, lay them aside and remove the assembly completely.
5. Reinstall everything in revers and don't for get to *** some grease to your socket before you place the new bulb in place and test the operation of the new bulb before you reinstall the tail light.
Thank you for using fixya and here is the bulb you need for the trail light. The 1999 Blazer uses a 3057 bulb available at most auto parts stores.

Replacement of rear outside tail light assembly

If you're asking how do you change a taillight bulb, then follow this procedure:

Open the trunk lid.

Disconnect the connectors from the taillights (taillight bulb connectors are visible by looking inside the trunk at the back of the tail lamps.) There may be an interior trunk trim panel that you have to take off but in most cases its just a series of thumb screws that hold them in.

Brake Lights/Taillights: 21/5 W

Rear Turn Signal Light: 21 W

Back-up Light: 21 W

Rear Side Marker Light: 5 W

Turn the bulb sockets 45 º counterclockwise to remove the bulbs.

If you're removing the taillamps with the bumper off there are 3 nuts and screws that hold the taillight to the rear panel of the car that have to come off from the inside of the trunk.
Remove the nuts and screws, then remove the taillight.

hope that answers your question

2004 A4 Tail Light replacement.

If you are still looking for the resolution, it's really pretty simple. It is highly recommended that you remove one light assembly at a time, thus allowing you to have a good guide when repositioning the assembly back on the vehicle body. Yes, the only way to get to the burned out bulb in the taillight is to remove the whole darn thing! The bulb burns out every 4-5 months, so I have become good at it...Here goes:

1. Open trunk. Look for small (3" diameter) cutouts in the fabric panel in the trunk liner. They are identical and appear next to the taillight assemblies, on the side, not behind the taillight.
2. Gently use a flat blade screwdriver and pry them open. These cutouts are attached to the inner trunk liner fabric, so be gentle.
3. Notice the phillips head screw inside the opening. Unscrew it slowly, making sure it doesn't drop between the chassis and the trunk liner. Remove the screw.
4. Place soft towel on the outside of the car under the taillight assembly, to prevent scratching the car bumper.
5. Gently grab both sides of the taillight assembly from the outside and pull away from the car (rear direction. Be careful not to pull too hard, or the wiring harness behind the assembly may break.
6. You can now access all lamp in the taillight assembly. Change the bulbs as needed. Also, if you can vacuum or clean the dirt on the chassis as well as on the back side of the taillight assembly, you'll feel better later :-)
7. Placing the taillight assembly back in its place is a bit tricky. It seems to go back easily, but the rubber lining nearest to the trunk opening and where the phillips head screw is, must be placed exactly right or water will leak behind the assembly.
8. Screw in the phillips head screw, but don't overtighten it. You will need to open it every 4-5 months to replace another bulb (its an Audi-VW plan to sell more bulbs).
9. Snap the trunk liner caps back in place and voila, you have done it.
