Have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica with 78000 miles. Runs great. Want to drive it from Indiana to Florida. What mechanical preparation steps should I take to make sure I h no problems

you don't need to anything. I would check tire pressure check spare, have jack lug wrench, if it is getting close to oil change do it, check coolant level windshield washer fill it. and my rule at 1/2 tank stop and fill it up, don't wonder if i went further it may be a penny cheaper. If you have 16 gallon tank from empty to full 32 cents difference you can't dispense that small amount.

Trying to change a flat tire. I have all the nuts off and I can not get the tire off!!

It's probably hung up on center hub. They get a corrosion build up and stick. Try spraying liquid wrench or similar lube on center of wheel and work(rock) tire side to side alternating top and bottom. BE CAREFUL NOT knock it off jack. Hopefully you have it on jack stands

How do i get my spare tire down? special tool? where?

Hello! Here is procedure to remove spare tire...Guru...saailer

  1. Park on a level surface and put on the emergency brake. If the car is near the side of a road, switch on the hazard lights.
  2. Locate the tire repair kit. It consists of a jack, a jack rod and a wheel nut wrench. In the regular cab, pull the entire seat bench forward. The tools are located behind the drivers seat. The King cab model has a tool case located directly behind the driver's seat. The Crew cab stows the tools behind the back bench. Pull the bench forward and remove the tools.
  3. Insert the square end of the jack rod into the square hole in the nut wrench. This gives the jack rod a handle.
  4. Find an oval shaped hole in the back of the truck under the middle of the tailgate. Look through the hole and find the winch for the spare tire. It is a circle with two notches.
  5. Insert the T-shaped end of the jack rod into the hole. Slip the T-shape into the double notched circle of the winch.
  6. Turn the jack rod counterclockwise to lower the spare tire to the ground.
  7. When the tire is completely lowered to the ground, remove the center retainer chain and pull the tire out from under the truck.
  8. Wind the jack rod clockwise to completely retract the retainer chain

New tires and rims were installed on my 2005 Pacifica and now the service tire system soon, light is on. Why?

This particular car has the tire pressure monitoring system on it with sensors in the wheels. If the sensor was messed up when it was reenstalled on the new rim it would throw this code. Some vehicles have the sensors with specific mount locations and if one of the sensors was reenstalled in the wrong location it could cause this fault. You can take it to the dealer and have them check the sensors and see if all are reading properly and are in the right locations.
