Bad plug, bad coil, wire could be arching down if it is touching anything else, could be a shawty head gasket change and was damaged on the head install, was the head resurfaced and cleaned properly,
you don`t say how you verified that the plug and wire was good. I think these use coil on plug, if so check powers and grounds for that coil as one may have a problem.other things that could cause this is a bad fuel injector, poor compression due to either rings, valve, worn cam, damaged push rod,
First off, I would get a second opinion (and not put alot of faith in C/T) I would get the cooling system pressure tested & checked for leaks internal & external to eliminate bad head gasket or cracked coolant passage way. (If it had an internal leak - plugs would be wet and you would see white smoke from exhaust) RE; miss - run a really good/strong fuel system cleaner through it (Seafoam,STP, Gumout) and then change fuel filter.
you have to remove the engine shroud inside the the passenger compartment. its the cover between the 2 front seats, it covers the back 1/2 of the engine once its off you can see the entire engine almost
The best bet is to take a torch or file to the plug. Never use water to wash. It could cause internal engine damage. If it is getting oil fouled, then the plug is bad or the plug wire is bad.
did the car over heat for long? there could possibly be damage to your head like warping due to overheating and blowing a head gasket or something along those lines . first check the oil dipstick is it milky? then check the coolant is it oily? and when it is running is it blowing any white smoke? if you replaced the plugs and it is misfiring did you plug the wire all the way back on the plugs if not then the problem is a plug wire being loose and loosing connection with the plug. sounds like a simple fix if you don't have water in your oil or white smoke coming out the exhaust. troubleshooting it can be a bigger job but if you nail the right symptoms down you can corner the problem. like if it is a coil pack or bad wire switch them with another one and see if the problem follows the wire or coil pack.for instance take the number one plug wire off and the number two wire off and put the number one wire on number two and see if the number one misfires. if so then the wire is the problem if not then try numbers three and four until you find out which cylinder is the culprit. good luck and happy hunting.
