The main cause of an engine overheating is either not having enough coolant/water and the thermostat going bad/getting stuck. The best thing to do in that situation is to see if there is anywhere that coolant may be coming from and stopping the leak if there is one. The next is to make sure that there is enough fluid in there. The last step should be to replace your thermostat.

What type of transmission fluid is for lancer 96 1.3cc automatic transmission ?

You have a few options but there are some that will convert Regular ATF if you add the "FRICTION MODIFIER". The IMPORT Fluid will say it on the Bottle, If your Transmission is a CVT Transmission (you have the smaller engine), then you need to get to the dealer. But normally the Import will say the Proper Fluid on the Bottle.

My 96 toyota Avalon is overheating and the heat has stopped working? Replaced the radiator and still overheating

Did you also change the thermostat while you were doing the rad? The thermostat is the most common cause of engine overheating, it should be changed every couple years whether it is acting up or not.

What can cause overheating problems in my 87 el camino? I have already changed the thermostat, flushed the engine and radiator. Radiator is new about 2 yrs old.

2 years is not new...it might be the problem...
look and see if the head gasket is leaking oil...if so the you need to get that repaired...the oil might mix with the coolant and overheat the car...
good luck!

2003 ce lancer car keeps overheating... thermo fan isnt working... coolant is going but no leak.. checked fuses all seem fine.. not sure what to do next

It should be either the thermostat or the water pump. The water pump will sometimes allow you to go about 25-30 miles before it overheats. The thermostat would likely be the cause if once the temperature guage starts going up,it kind of just keeps going and overheats. You need to avoid driving and overheating as much as possible due to very bad engine damage.Hopefully you have a second car.You can call a couple shops, they normally will give you a free opinion, just describe it with as much information as you can to get an accurate one. Also you can get free estimates unless you plan to self-repair.Good luck! 96 dodge caravan to show its overheating then return to normal

air pockets in the cooling system can cause this problem. idle engine with radiator cap removed for 10 -15 min. Do not let engine overheat and make sure coolant lvl is topped off. this should bleed all air from system.
