My back door on my 04 Vue will not unlock, so there fore I can't open it; there is no key hole so everything is operated from my key fob. What can I do to open or unlock the door.

2008 Saturn Vue liftgate will not open

The endgate/liftgate can be locked or unlocked by operating either one of the front door lock switches, your's doesn't do this ?
Endgate/Liftgate
Once the vehicle doors have been unlocked, the endgate/liftgate can be opened by using the handle mounted to the exterior of the gate. The endgate/liftgate can be locked or unlocked by operating either one of the front door lock switches, or by pressing the Lock/Unlock button on the key fob. The endgate/liftgate lock and unlock functions operate in conjunction with the rear doors.

Your key fob is fitted with an emergency key for problems like this. Turn the key fob over and look at the back cover. There will be a small square hole marked with an arrow. (See photo). Slide the small ridge in the hole in the direction of the arrow. The fob should separate revealing a normal key. Use this to unlock the door using the slot in the driver's side door handle.
Refit the key back into the fob BEFORE doing anything to the vehicle. Once open you will have access to the car to open the hood as normal.

this may sound a silly question as your are locked out obviously , have you tried the key in the lock, drivers door ? if there is a fob for remote control ,the battery may need changing .If none of these work call a mechanic who should be able to get one door open and take it from there

in between the pad and the circuit board of the key fob put separate in each hole close the fob and try

The release contact switch must be dirty and corroded...you will have to jiggle the rear hatch...when trying to open again...when open spray the hold down bracket, and the under side of the hatch that makes contact...the best spray for this is PB Blaster, available at Walmart auto parts section...this will not hurt the electric contacts...as you still cannot open the rear hatch, you will need to remove the inside panel of the rear hatch to expose the release arm on the inside of the hatch. Hope this helps.

Try with brand new key fob battery and see.If that helps.
Otherwise May be keyfob needs to be reprogrammed.

KEYFOB PROGRAMMING

Keyfob remote reprogramming is not very difficult but on some cases it can be done by dealer service tools.

If the remote s faulty then key fob will not get programmed.

Insert the key in ignition. Turn the key to on position, and cycle the key three times off-on-off-on-off-on. Then with the key fob remote select your remote and then try to operate the vehicle with remote.

These are just the basic procedure, but sometimes it will not help.

On that case dealer is the only option.

if your just programming the fob to the module and it has not been replaced and your just needing a manual reset,then follow the folowing procedure:

1 Insert key into ignition
2 Turn key to 'I"
3 Turn key "II" and back to 'I' quickly 4 times
4 Alarm system will chime once when key is back to 'I' for the
fourth time
5 Remove key from ignition
6 Press any button on each key fob and alarm system will chime
for each fob if it has been programmed correctly
7 Press unlock/lock/trunk etc to make sure everything works

sounds like the solenoid that locks and unlocks is bad or the rod came off of the linkage in the door
