X trail intermittent loss of power

I have a Nissan X trail 2002, 2.5 petrol. It is intermittently losing power, it jumps about 5 or 6 times then picks up okay again. Its been occuring about twice a week for a month or so now. I don;t think there is any blockages in the fuel line but any advice or ideas appreciated.

Suggest air intake leak somewhere. Possibly in air intake system after MAF sensor letting in false air.

Check front brake pads for wear and possible replacement. If never changed originals, there is a high likelihood they are worn out.

Free nissan repair manuals

I have a 2009 Nissan X-Trail QR25 2.5 litre petrol engine and CVT transmission with 65,000 km on the clock. Ever since new it has an intermittent power loss on acceleration from a stand still you have to pump the accelerator pedal to get the power bad. I have complained to Nissan during warranty and out, they have been unable to find a fault. Nissan Australia now dismisses the situation as it's out of Warranty. I have even written to Nissan Japan without them being concerned. The day that one of my familiar is seriously hurt because this fault they might then walk up to them selves that there is a real series health and safety issue.

Has any else had this problem?

I think you may have a problem with your electric assisted power steering motor. Is the loss in power only when your are making sharp turns to the right or left?
Do you hear any load noises or squeling sounds?
You should have it inspected, Don't want you to lose control while driving.

Saab 9-3 1999 convertible

On 1999 9-3 models there is a fuel filter located under the pass rear door. However if this was plugged it would not kick back in after a short time. Typical suspects are crankshaft position sensor which will work well on a cold engine and intermittently cut off and on when the engine is hot. Its a cheap sensor, and very easy to change. Possibly check condition of spark plugs and the DI cassette as well. Also check function of Fuel pressure regulator. Any fault codes stored (CEL on?)
