After getting my car seviced at the 15 000km mark, why is the ESP light staying on? What does this mean?

You must mean the ESP light. That means you have a fault in the system. Get the trouble code read and that'll point you in the right direction.

Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP)

The light will flash if you are driving and the traction control system is activated (it detects wheel slip on ice, water, etc.). This just tells you it is actively working. You should adjust your driving to the current road conditions to prevent loss of control.

If it stays on continuously, the traction control system (ESP) is off, or there is a problem with the ESP system. Usually, the ABS light will also illuminate if the ESP light is on due to a fault.

it can be normal while driving but will reset.
stays, as in forever.
means its in FAULT.
the the operator guide says what. get it services for every car made.
or if walking the wild side of brakes ABS and ESP
buy the FSM and read those chapters.

There are many causes for those lights to come on. Have the var diagnosed so you can have the error codes and now we can think of solutions.

If you have access to a VAG-com cable you can probably find out more specific info.

Could you possibly take a picture of it and upload it? Also, have you read the manual? Go through to the instrument cluster section and look for the symbol. Could be some like this...



This icon is a Low Tire Pressure Warning light. This light comes on if your vehicle's tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) detects a tire that is more than 25 percent underinflated. Driving on a low tire can be dangerous because it increases the risk of a tire blowout. A low tire can also cause your vehicle to brake unevenly, pull to one side, handle poorly and get reduced fuel mileage. If the TPMS Low Tire Warning light is on, check the air pressure in your tires as soon as possible, and inflate them to the recommended pressure.

The other choice sound as Traction Control light. It normally lights if the car detects slippage and engages the ESP. It will stay lit if you press the ESP button on the center stack of the dash. If it stay lit all the time regardless then it means something in the ESP system is broken, but I don't have the expertise to know what...maybe ABS sensor(s), but I honestly don't know.

As we tell everyone else who comes on here with warning lights: When there's a warning light on, that means a trouble code is stored in the computer. Don't ask us to guess what caused the light to go on when all you have to do is get the trouble codes read.

ESP is short for "Electronic Stability Program" this system aids in keeping the car under control if you are sliding or skidding, it is part of the ABS brake control system. When the light comes on and stays on this is to alert you to the fact a fault has occurred in the ESP system, if the light just blinks and then goes off that means the system was activated due to excessive wheel slip being sensed and is normal. If the light is on and stays on a fault code is set in the systems control computer, the Suzuki dealer has a special electronic systems scanner that can read what fault is keeping the light on in the form of a code.

Do you mean that the light with the car and skid-marks is constantly on? If it is not blinking this means that the ESP in your car is not on. It doesn't mean that it is constantly on. If the stability protection isn't working it's likely a problem associated with your ABS system. The car should run fine without traction control but if you absolutely need it I would suggest taking it into the dealership and having them take a look.

If the ESP light is on, the system is not functioning. have your dealer look at and replace your Brake Light Switch

take the car to a sevice center and have them check for trouble codes which might make the light stay on and tell you what problems the car is having. or disconnect the battery cables and wait 20-30 min then reconnect the cables and see if that clears the codes. usually if a light stays on that means you have problems.
