Pull the reservoir off and replace the rubber seal on the bottom of it. Also check to make sure u don't see any cracks in the reservoir or master cylinder.

What color is the liquid? Brown/amber -oil. green - coolant. Clear with a distinctive smell not too offensive - brake fluid.(very bad) If the fluid eats away paint its brake fluid. how is ur brakes working?, pedal don't feal right? its brake fluid. Is brake fluid low in master cylinder resivour?
Do you have any leaks? If none are found and the fluid is still high, then your master cylider is shot. Pump the brakes, is the pedal hard? push slowly, does it go down now?
First important thing to do is find out where the brake fluid goes when it's leaking from the master reservoir. Fill the reservoir then have an assistant pump the brake while you look at the braking system circuit i.e:1. the 4 tires. Is there brake fluid on any of them? If yes then the wheel cylinder is leaking.2. the brake lines and hoses3. the masterAs said earlier, where the fluid is leaking out is where the problem is.
Look under the hood on the drivers side. Right inline with the drivers seat on the firewall there should be the brake master with resivour bolted to a round "canister" (brake booster).
But if the fluid is low it is either due to leaks or low, worn out brake pads and/or shoes.
The master cylinder and booster are on the left top of the firewall, under the hood. But if the pedal goes to the floor I would not suspect vacuum. I would check for leaks.
Look at the fluid level in the brake resivour. If its low then look behind the wheels for any fluid that has run down onto the tires. The master cylinder could also be leaking inside the booster. Look at the master where it bolts to the boster for leaks (may or may not show signs). If there is no fluid loss it could still be the master bypassing internally.
did you have to swap your old resivour to new master cyclinder if so check to see if leaking where the two pieces mate or your resivour is got a leak itself
Explain this in some detail
You need a helper to bleed anything
My wife and I, have been bleeding brakes for 35 years, with no issues
I owned a trans shop once, and my employees did a few clutch master and slaves!
