RE: Check Engine Codes: P1723 = A/T Control Relay Open/Short Ground P1751 = Front Right Speed Sensor *Wanted to see how complex of a "fix job" this would be w/the cost of parts & location of the problem area? I have someone that wanted me to do the leg work of finding if it would be worth while to fix ourselves or if this issue takes major surgery to perform? Can anyone advise of a manual that would assist in correcting this problem? Thanks, Shawn W.

The P1751,front right speed sensor has to do with the anti lock brake system. You have to look at it,and determine if the sensor itself is built INTO the wheel bearing,or if the sensor just bolts to a bracket. If it bolts to a bracket, pretty easy to remove and replace. If the sensor is built into,or part of the wheel bearing assembly, much more difficult and time consuming repair as the entire wheel bearing would require replacing.........The P1723, Automatic Transmission control relay open/short is going to require a digital volt ohm meter, and electrical expertise. The wires to and from the relay are going to have to be backprobed and checked for continuity which is also going to require electrical diagrams showing where the wires begin and end,and what terminals are involved in the circuit. This type of information is only available through pay sources such as All Data,Mitchell Manuals, etc. You could also buy a Chilton manual specifically for your vehicle model, but leaf through it first before buying and see if the electrical diagrams you need are in it.Good luck.

Just a note that i forgot to mention. It sounds like two separate problems, but the general rule in repairing trouble codes is to repair the lowest numerical code number....FIRST,as doing so can sometimes make the higher numerical codes go away.

Have it checked for DTC'S -diagnostic trouble codes . That will tell you what's up . Dealer or someother qualified repair shop .
DTC P0532: Air Conditioning A/C Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Voltage
DTC P0533: Air Conditioning A/C Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Circuit High Voltage
DTC P0645: A/C Clutch Relay Control Circuit
Circuit System Description
When the A/C switch is pressed, the HVAC control module sends a serial data message to the ECM. This input will request the engine control module (ECM) to ground the A/C compressor clutch relay control circuit, which will switch the A/C CMPRSR CLUTCH relay on. With the relay contacts closed, battery voltage is supplied to the A/C compressor clutch assembly.

I have on 01 xterra-service engine light on-codes P1126 & P0325. I think the battery is about to go,could it be realated to codes? Otherwise what do the codes mean? Appreciate any help

Your battery has nothing to do with these codes. Your vehicles computers have detected a malfunction or failure in the system. This triggers these codes and sets your check engine light. Below I have listed the code meanings and some repair solutions.

P1126 - Throttle Position (Narrow Range) Sensor Circuit Malfunction.

Power supply for the throttle control motor is provided to the ECM via throttle control motor relay. The throttle control motor relay is ON/OFF controlled by the ECM. When the ignition switch is turned ON, the ECM sends an ON signal to throttle control motor relay and battery voltage is provided to the ECM. When the ignition switch is turned OFF, the ECM sends an OFF signal to throttle control motor relay and battery voltage is not provided to the ECM.

Possible Causes For P1126:
- Harness or connectors (Throttle control motor relay circuit is open)
- Throttle control motor relay

P0325 - Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction

The knock sensor is attached to the cylinder block. It senses engine knocking using a piezoelectric element. A knocking vibration from the cylinder block is sensed as vibrational pressure. This pressure is converted into a voltage signal and sent to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Electronic Control Module (ECM).

Possible Causes For P0325:
- Knock sensor circuit short to ground.
- Knock sensor circuit short to power.
- Knock sensor circuit open.
- Damaged knock sensor.
- Damaged PCM or ECM

Possible Solutions:
- Repair or resecure harness or connector
- Replace knock sensor Bank 1 (Bank 1 if applicable)
- Replace PCM or ECM

The P0325 DTC is a very common problem with Nissan vehicles. On most Nissan vehicles the knock sensor is located on top of the engine block.
