A symbol that looks like a small building wiith columns in it keeps popping up after i have driven about 15 miles. Since my used 2001 Mazda tribute did not come with a manual, and I am pretty strapped for cash, I was wondering if someone could tell me what this symbol is telling me. Thanks

Please refer to your owners manual, it should have what the symbol stand for as I don't have visual picture to refer to. Thanks. It could be the tire pressure monitoring symbol saying that one of your tire has low pressure. I'm not sure since I cannot relate to "a small building with columns". acutally look like. But I'm sure your owners manual have it and what it is.

Gear shift is broken in a 2001 Mazda Tribute 3.0

Mine did the same thing on May 31. Turns out the cable that passes through the firewall from the steering column to the side of the transmission had come disconected at the transmission. I was able to re-connect it using a tie wrap for a temporary solution. Hope this helps.

2001 MAZDA TRIBUTE COLD STARTING PROBLEM

My wifes car had this same problem at about 100000 miles and after many trips to the shop it turned out to be carbor build up in the intake manifold. A fuel injector cleaner was hooked up and it helped the problem, but did not completely solve it. In oreder to get it totally clean the intake had to be removed and clean it out manually.

My 2001 Mazda tribute column shift gear lever is stuck on neutral and doesn't want to shift.

The same thing happened to my 2001 Mazda Tribute. It was stuck in Neutral. The shifter cable fell off the little metal post under the steering column. To fix it I removed the plastic column covers. Put the round end of the cable back on the little silver colored post. Then secured it on the post with a ring type push nut from Ace Hardware. Total cost of repair was sixty cents. The cables are not always broken. They just fall of the little post.

Dash lights

I had this problem a while back and I put more antifreeze in the radiator overflow tank and that solved the problem. You may want to check your antifreeze level.
