How old is the battery? I learned at Sears while working there in the battery department that the average life of car batteries is about 3 years. So, after that, batteries lose a significant amount of their performance CCA or cold cranking amps, and may have to be replaced on a pro rated basis after that period of time, on average.

I put a diehard platinum battery into my 1997 Cadillac Deville Limousine for about $189.99 plus tax and it has a 4 year replacement warranty due to bettery construction.

However, if you get Walmart's best Maxx battery, they have a 3 year replacement policy and they charge about $79.99. I put that into my 1990 Cadillac Deville.

Good luck on resolving the battery drain problem with a good alternator.

You say the alternator is good, but it sounds like it is not charging the battery. Have you had the charging system tested on the truck ?
Could be the main fuse for the alternator. Its usually large, 80 or 100 amp in size.

My car battery keeps getting drained. what is draining my battery.

Are you sure that you have a problem with something draining the battery, or do you have a problem with the alternator not charging the battery? I would have the alternator tested to make sure of that before spending hours and hours troubleshooting electrical problems.

Basically, to check a problem like this you will need a clamp on amp meter. Then you pull fuses from your fuse panel and see where the drain is. Make sure you have a good layout of your fuse panel and fuse sizes (a digital photo is also a good idea) before starting, so you don't introduce problems.

You need to find out what is causing the drain-have you recently installed an amp?

A way to find the drain is to hook up a digital voltage meter to the battery and remove fuses, one by one, until you pull one that STOPS the lowering readings-if it is draining a good battery in 1/2 an hour, it has to be something pretty significant and should be relatively easy to find this way.

Also, be wary of a 'good' battery-did they load test it? How old is it? You can buy a tester that checks specific gravity of the sulfuric acid in each cell, and it would show a weak cell that might be the very reason you are having these problems.

Check the voltage regulator if there's coming out of it.
you may have a good alternator but if nothing goes at
the alternator, then, it results to a drained battery. Just
replace your regulator, if this is not working.

You have several choices;
) You can get the alternator check at an auto parts store. Most do it free. You will have to take it off.
) You can get the entire charging system check at Sears. The checkup is free.
