Check and verify that your oil level is full on your engine oil dipstick, if its low add oil until its in the safe area of the dipstick, if your oil is full and your still having this problem, the problem is most likely a faulty oil pressure switch, replace the switch and your oil light problem should be fixed...
However i forgot to mention if your oil level is full to be on the safe side i would remove the oil pressure switch and hook a mechanical oil pressure gauge up to the engine and verify you have adequate oil pressure for your engine when its idling if the oil pressure is dangerously low on your mechanical gauge then theres a problem with your oil pump or lubricating system on the engine, if the oil pressure is good with your mechanical gauge replace the oil pressure switch.....

this is due to low oil pressure. i would do an oil change and get an oil filter from the dealer(actually you should be able to get motorcraft filters at any parts store) but dont use fram. up grade your oil to the next heavier weight( 10w 30 go to 10w 40) and see if this make a difference. if no difference is noticed the next diagnostic step is to see your technician and have himperform whats called a wet oil test. by this i mean that the pressure sesnor is only taking pressure and converting it into an electrical signal which if the sensor is bad..... so he takes out the sensor and replaces it with an actual gauge to read pressures. this is the most acurate way to test. from there he will be able to advise you on the next step of repair.

Scanning for fault codes; "check light" is one waringn.
Tell us what code fault have there.
Testimonial: "Thank you Ill replace the sensor and see if it stops coming on. "

I suspect that because your car is 13 years old it has high mileage. That would cause this because things are starting to wear out. You could try going to a heavier oil like a 15W-40 or 20W-50. The heavier oil will build pressure and will lubricate better because it's thicker. It's time to start planning your next step because that won't last forever. You looking at an engine rebuild or replacement.
If the mileage is low you should get the oil pump checked out. It may be going. Hope this helps.

The engine bearings and oil pump are getting worn. Try 'high-mileage' oil next oil change (be sure to change the filter too). If you have been running 10-30 oil, go to 10-40 which has more viscosity and maintains oil pressure better. The sure fix is a fresh engine, but not cheap. We had a '96 Caravan that had over 300,000 miles and still running well on the original engine when we bought a later model Caravan.
SOURCE: after 20-30 min. driving oil light comes on when
There is less oil distributed to the engine in idle position than when you drive. So when the oil light comes on, you may have to put a little oil in your car. While driving, the oil reading may be enough for your sensors in your car to not send a signal, but when you stop and the oil pressure goes down, it may not be enough and that's when the light comes on. When you drive 20 to 30 minutes, your oil gets thinner because it is warm. That also will send a different reading to the sensors. You may want to try a thicker oil (instead of 10/40 try 5/20 ... ask before you do this!).
