The number one cylinder is the first cylinder on the drivers side in the front of the engine. Number 3 is next then number 5 and the last cylinder is number 7. Numbers 2,4 6,and 8 are on the right side, passenger side of the engine.

What is litre size of engine? If this is a six cylinder, there is no number 8 cylinder.

it all depends on make usually you have an odd and even side fords just run down the line 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 however all cars are the same in V motors number 1 cylinder is the that has the head that sits more forward than the other head if your talking 4 cylinder number 1 cylinder is the first cylinder by the accessories alt. power steering act so number 4 would be last one in valve cover by trans gm v-8 as 6's are 1-3-5-7 and 2-4-6-8 minus the 7 and 8 for 6 bangers

There is no number 8 spark plug cylinder. This would indicate that the vehicle has an 8 cylinder engine. There has only been 4cyl's and 6 cyl's put in these vans.

AS you look at the engine under the hood your will see that the 8 cylinders are arranged in two banks of 4. One bank of 4 cylinders is just slightly more towards the front of the car/engine than the the other. The cylinder that is closest to the front of the engine is called 1 cylinder, as you look at the engine: this is the cylinder on the front right. Fords and Lincolns number the cylinders 1, 2, 3, and 4, front to to back, on the right and then 5, 6, 7, and 8, front to back, on the left bank. Number 8 cylinder is the back left as you face the engine. I keep making reference to the orientation of the viewer when calling the engine left and right. Everything above is correct when looking at the engine under the hood. But strictly speaking the engine is labelled from the point of view of the direction of the vehicle so the right cylinder bank that you look at is actually called the 'left' cylinder bank and vice versa. Do not worry about this gratuitous confusion the cylinder 8 is still the one closest to the windscreen /firewall

Hello morris_valen: My name is Roger and I can help. The fire order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. Number 8 cylinder is the rear plug on the drivers side. The cylinders run front to back on the passenger side as 1-2-3-4- and on the opposite side front to back 5-6-7-8.

Looking at the engine your number 1 cylinder is the front right, number 2 is front left. The right side is 1-3-5-7, the left is 2-4-6-8. As for the number 1 on the distributor it is at the 5 o'clock position (there should be a number 1 or a long dash by that spark plug wire). Firing order is clockwise 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
