The problem is either the ignition module mounted on the side of the distributor, or the pick-up coil/stator assembly located inside of the distributor could also be faulty, and there is also the possibility that the fuel pump is starting to fail. There are diagnostic procedures to determine which is exactly at fault if you would require them, but those procedures can be too technical for some to accomplish successfully, and 99.9% of the time it is the ignition module that is at fault.

SOURCE: 2000 ford focus sedan 2.0 dohc ztec engine rear

check all battery leads and earth straps
"" car body and engen bay straps""
also check battery terminals are tight check its full of battery water too if its been low for a time bump it!
and have a ""drop meeter test"" done on the battery if its a bad battery it should show that up first time it could have cracked plates inside the battery its self, test by turning on head lights then hit starter, if every thing go's dead!!!! put ""good jump start"" battery on to car and try it again,,, all should work just fine then,,,,it could just be a flat battery?????

Check engine light is on and car keeps dying while im driving

engine computer sounds like it is going into default mode to protect engine components.Check oil first, then it is going to need a diag computer hooked up to see what is going on.It could just be a bad sensor of some sort.

When I got the car, Starting it, I have to hold the gas down or it won't start. WHen I drive more than 15 miles at a time, the oil light flashes and beeps for days. (it's very annoying) Almost annoying...

Sounds like your cars alternator is bad. The injectors in the motor along with everything else (including the cars computer) needs a steady stream of power in order to function. The injectors work through magnets that open and close ports thus use electricity. the car could not run without power (alternator not charging the battery anymore). The oil light comes from the computer not receiving the correct power input so may start to glitch and alert you of things that are not happening. Usually when the battery dies all of the gauges will die and the radio will shut off. most power accessories will not be available. However, better safe then sorry. You should check your oil ;) Be safe! Thanks for asking! Glad I could help.

The 96 park avenue will start great and run great. No security light comes on and everything runs smooth. No bucking or hesitation. A great ride. Then all of a sudden it will die. Lights stay on and radio...

It cannot be the VATS system. The TDM, that is the core of the VATS system, is engaged only at the time you start your car. I have a problem exactly like yours on my 95 LeSabre and just discovered it is the alternator that sometimes charges and sometimes doesn't and when it doesn't, the battery's voltage goes lower than a certain threshold and the computer (PCM) is unable to work anymore and shuts down the engine. Took me months to discover this!

Revere Polarity Jump Starting 92 LS400. Radio & More Wont Work

there are a few diodes in the electrical system that have been blown.  Some are in the dash and some are in the different control modules in the car.  Your insurance should pay for this problem.

Battery light on, takes forever to start then dies once started

if you can get the car started again and with someone helping you have them take the positive side of the battery cable off while it is running and if it dies then it is the alternator also check your drive belt and when was the last time it was changed because it could be slipping
